  • OMG I just played with snowball again. My car loan finishes in August which frees up £156 per month. If I can manage to pay the £420 a month I have said plus when my car loan ends I add that on then I can be debt free in 36 months.:eek:. !!!!!! that is so exciting. I can do this guys and I can do it within 3 yrs. I cant believe this. I just need to hope my car keeps going for another 3 years. It's an 05 plate so hopefully it will. I'll not sleep now lol. I could do wonders with £580 per month extra in my purse and another thing is my dd will be in uni and ds will only have a year before he goes to uni/college by then too so this will just be in time for my tax credits/ child benefit etc cutting off. My other loan which is £132 per month will be finished by then as well. Wow. 3 years does not seem too long after sitting at more than 5 yrs. Right that is just the inspiration I need to get me going big time. :j:j:j. Happy Happy MIT :D. Just need to find £180 per month more than I have been paying. Will be tight but what the hell I can do this. Hold onto my coat tails as this will be a bumpy one. Paid £20 from it so far lol

  • Still here. Still excited. Snowball says £181.78 to be paid to ARGOS this month. I have paid £81.78 today so only £100 to find lol. I know I have £60 for definite coming from CSA so should only need to find another £40. I can do that. Can't I?

    woohoo really great news :D

  • :rotfl:well how excited was I in the wee small hours of the morning. Went to bed and figures were rattling around my brain for hours. Not bothered though cos at least it was all nice positive ones. Spreadsheet and snowball saying another £100 to pay to ARGOS this month and I will be on track. With great care and lots of planning I will manage to do this. Might not be posiible every month but I will have a damn good try :D.

Off out today with friends but taking car so I can keep spends to a minimum. Will ahve the same as everyone else food wise but no booze. Not a big drinker anyway so no real hardship there and probably a saving of about £30 cash wise if you take the wine and the taxis into consideration. Might have a look down in the shopping centre when I am down and see if any bargains for my bil's birthday this month and then I can totally concentrate on the debt. The only other thing I have that could potentially be expensive this month is a big night out with work. That'll be food and drink. I'll put money by this week and next for that as it will be next Friday night. So am off out for a nice lunch in a fabulous location. Just a pity it's raining. But then again it could be snowing  so I should be grateful for the rain x

  • Aww what a smashing wee afternoon. Was in a restaurant that looks all the way up Loch Lomond. Stunning views. Was raining today but still very enjoyable watching the water. Gorgeous place on sunny days. The food was lush. I had a dish call highland chicken. It was a chicken breast with colcannon and veg with a honey, mustard and Drambuie sauce. Bloody gorgeous. Thought it quite sweet at first taste but was actually fabby. I didn't have starter or pudding but did have 1 small glass of wine and 2 soft drinks. £16.50 all in which was excellent. Loads of lovely conversation with my friends. Then went a wee wander through Hawkshead and got a jumper reduced from £25 to £7.50 for BIL's birthday :jand a final wee wander through Jenners, dreaming of the days I can afford to shop there. A wee skoosh of Daisy perfume and headed to the local pub for comfy seats and a chat. I love chilled days like that with good food and great company. Am content and didn't even spend too much to achieve it :D. Sitting eating marks and Spencers chocs now :o

  • JUst watched Biggest LOser US and want to get moving on the weight loss now. I also sent a complaint to the CSA as I have been waiting since JUne for an assessment and they keep palming me off and no-one ever calls you back.

It's funny how loads of folks have weight problems as well as money problems on here. I need to get in control of both.

  • Evening all. Knackered after first day back. So much for watching Biggest Loser last night I have been so bad today :rotfl:. Forgot there were chocolates everywhere in work amd I had some chips :o. From canteen and minging as per usual. Only 65p though. So that's my spends for today. Kids back at school tomorrow though so no more low spend days. Never mind so long as I stay in budget then that's the main thing.

I have stuck to my menu plan all week so I am really pleased with that. I will do a stocktake tomorrow and do a plan for next week too. Saves me an absolute fortune doing it this way and kids are excited to eat again as I am not allowing them to eat a load of rubbish. Well actually there is hardly any junk in the house for them so the old saying' hunger makes good kitchen' is most definitely a true one:D.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

  • How about classing anything other than planned spends as a NSD ie ignore the basic amount spent on kids lunches but do count the canteen spends?

Popped into one of our offices today to use the printer and there were loads of chocs about. Thankfully as I dont work there requalrly I dont touch but I do remember it being a nightmare when I did.

    May 2013 new beginnings:j
  • It is a nightmare KP. My hand dips in every time I pass and I pass them many times lol. I actually moved them further away this morning to try and stop me munching.

:j:j. My brother has just said to leave him my keys on Monday and he will fit my oven and hob for me. I am happy, happy. My mum had got a new oven and gave me her old one and then bought me a hob to match as they were stainless steel. THey will look lovely and we can have cheese on toast as my grill has been broken for years :D:D.

THat's a good idea re NSD's KP or else I might just put the whole lot of the money in a tub on a Monday and that means I only actually spend on a MOnday. All psychological I know but so long as it works for me.
