JUst depressed myself slightly. Read my new year post for last 3 years and all more or less the same as this years. How I've managed to add to my debt despite periods of doing really well. How busy my life is, with my mum and kids etc, and how I am all motivated to change it all. I do so hope that this is the year I manage to change this and next ears new years post is shouting from the rooftops about the money I have paid off. I need to sort it one of these years
. Forgot to mention earlier that I ordered a game for my niece for her birthday. Got it through Quidco though and was > £10 cheaper online than in the shops so all is not lost. One other birthday this month and will go bargain hunting for that.

Trust me when I say this - EVERYONE and I mean everyone who I know either on a social level or work level have all been boasting how fantastic this year has been already. I know its still very early into 2011 but the whole attitude of everyone has changed - even though VAT went up theres still positive thoughts out there.
I think in general 2010 was a rubbish year for most people (putting it mildly) but if everyones attitude is positive this year your more likely to make things work for you because that positive attitude will carry you along!keep the faith that this time next year youll be laughing about how much debt you managed to tackle!

I must admit I get bored of posting that I will spend less, eat less and diarise spends etc but we must keep trying just think how bad it could be without trying. Noones perfect and you have an awful lot on your plate with no help. You have done amazingly well. We cant live without some fun and unnessesary spends but limiting them helps.
Good news on the present see without MSE a few years ago you would have just spent without thinking.:j0 -

You are doing fantastic, keep it up. I make and break the same resolution every year. So have decided to not make any this year! Just going to keep a steady pace at what I do.

lol @ you lot. Let us know how you get on with that one Belfast girl. THanks for the kind words. I do really feel positive about this year on all fronts of my life. I feel happy, energised and content with my life. SHouldn't have looked back. You never look back only forward. I'm not reading any of the old posts until I am finished then I will print them all off and read them like a book. Sounds like a plan to me. Now my next question is am I rotten enough to tell DS to get off x-box and into bed....................yes I bloody am lol. Watch over Scotland for many many fireworks lol5 Year plan. I am such a prat. Really really am. I did a snowball as I always do when working on the debts. I put in my ARGOS as 29.95 so it would show as 1st debt to be paid ( want it paid prior to 0% ending) but I also put on my Halifax as 19.2% as that is the standard rate. I don't pay the standard rate as I have a huge part of that debt as a balance transfer at 4%. I have now worked it out as 10% on average and have cut my dfd by 9 months. I feel liberated lol. Am delighted. My mojo is bubbling over.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
