  • Slight change to finances which means I am in the £18's again :j. DD's dress she ordered is horrible so she has sent it back and I have refunded the money to my account. I feel better for that. I am heading for the £17's now as fast as I can. Says September on snowball but going to try and tie it in with my 100 day challenge so hopefully will be in it by August. Got a couple of expensive months coming up mind you .

  • Good morning. Well weather cannot decide what to do with itself here today. Been splitting sunshine and pouring rain already this morning. Typical Scotland
I have a wee day out today with my mum. I have promised to take her to Clydebank shopping which is a few miles from us but has some good shops in it. We have hardly anything locally ( just as well really :rotfl:). I'm hoping not to spend any money as I have only a £10 to do me until Tuesday and will need that for parking on Monday at SECC for home show :D. I'm really, really looking forward to that.
My friend's wedding is next month and I am going to have to be really careful with my spends for it. I have afabulous dress that I totally love. I bought it off of e-bay a couple of years ago but have never managed to fit into it. Unfortunately I still have an onch or so to go before it will fit me. Gutted !!:(. So I really need to start looking for a dress today. Another friend says she has one she got from Monsoon and I can borrow that from her but I will need to see what it is like first. I am loathe to spend too much as I am losing weight nice and easily and don't want to spend lots on an outfit that will likely end up on e-bay as it is too big for me. I also have a gift to buy her and all 3 of us are attending the wedding too. I am really looking forward to it as you can't beat a good wedding but also dreading wat it will be costing me . I will try and do my best to get everything on a budget.
Right better go get ready. Have a lovely day everyone :D

  • :j:j:jHappy, Happy, Happy. I got a dress :D. It is long and black and I love it. Best bit is that my mum paid for it :D. She bought it for me for my birthday next month. I am delighted with it. She also gave me £20 for petrol so I now have £30 to do me until Tuesday as I reckon I have enough petrol to see me through. Funny how life turns around in a day. If I manage to not spend it all then I will make a wee overpayment to TESCO. I want rid of it ASAP :p. I owe £1743.13 to it and snowball says May 2012 for pay off BUT I want rid by December 2011 so watch this space ;). That would be the best Christmas present I could give myself.

OMG!!!! Just caught one of them trying to climb up the chimney. We have a gas fire that we don't use and have stuffed loads of bags up into it to stop the draft but she managed to get through them. It doesn't help that she is jet black! Oh well going out tomorrow to buy a cheap fire guard.....I already thought we might need one but DH always knows best - except this time lol. Apart from that they are just wonderful, our last cat died in Feb aged 19 and the house was so empty, so it's lovely to have pets again. Hope you had a good weekend x
  • :rotfl:so funny Nonnie. I can just imagine the mayhem. We have no pets since our rabbit died.So heartbreaking when they go. I think I was in a worse state that the kids :o.

I have just watched Panorame on BBC1 about abuse in care homes and I have to say it has been a long time since I was so disgusted at the actions of the 'human race' Really awful. I ended up in tears:(.

I got a tooth out today  despite having worked in a dentist for years I was bloody terrified. I know exactly what the dentist is talking about when she discusses injections etc and she went to give me ahuge injection today instead of the one I was expecting and I was just about out of the chair and running :rotfl:. Told her no way was that happening and that if she insisted on that then I was offski and tooth could stay put. Poor soul was just trying to ensure that I would feel nothing but hey I didn't make things easy for her. I used to hate folks like me :rotfl:. All done now though and with the minimum of drama. And the funny thing is that we need to pay for this torture :rotfl:£34 it cost me.

Did my end of month sums and everything seems to be up this month . Here it is.

    Petrol - £152 up by £57.69
    Food- £344.10 up by £34.31
    Lunches (kids) - £89.00 up by £17.00
    Clothes £48.00 up by £17.80
Social life £131.95 up by £30.95
    Gifts £36.00 down by £103.80
    Miscellaneous- £92.64 up by £18.27

Total of £72.22 up on last month :(. It was a 5 weekend month but that's still a lot of money. Damn !!

Ok then work to be done this month. Problem is though that I have a wedding this month and I am giving them £50 for a pressie plus need to buy DS an outfit and pay for the actual night of the wedding. I reckon I'm looking at at least £150 altogether . I will do my best to manage on less than that though. I am going to have a good time though and if it costs £150 then that's what it costs. The bride is a lovely friend and she is looking for me to help her have a fab day. I now have my whole outfit. I got my jewellery today and another lovely friend insisted on buying me a fabby bag to go with it all as she knows I am skinto :o. How lucky am I.

I must admit I think June is going to be a stretch for me, however I'll just try my best! I kept all my food receipts for may and totalled them up - it's really scary when you see how much actually goes in food - £400! I think it might be a bit more than that, but I really don't know what else I can do, my DH is 6ft 2" and eats like a horse and DD is only 13 but now slightly taller than me at 5ft 8" and is the 2nd horse lol - neither or them are overweight or eat copious amounts of junk - but I just can't fill them!!
Oh well can only do my best. On a mse note, argos had fireguards on sale, so picked up one at £9.99 - down from £21.59! So the kitties cannot access the chimney, and yip your right loads of mayhem but oodles of fun too! :rotfl:
  • Well done on your bargain. My 2 are teens and are bottomless pits too. I have more or less stopped buying any goodies for the house as DS just mows his way through them and I get really mad at him. I cook the majority of food from scratch and waste as little as I possibly can. For instance tonight I had taken out mince for dinner but had forgotten that I would not be home until 8.30 and was too hungry to wait. I would have normally thrown the mince out but these days I cook it :p. I made a shepherds pie for tomorrow and it is in the fridge all ready to cook when I get in :D. In saying that I bought 1 child a chippy tonight and the other one a mcd's :rotfl:. Oh well no-one is perfect. :o.

Paid another £25 to tesco so I'm getting there with that :D. I had £45 in my account from CSA so I kept £20 towards wedding expenses and other £25 to the challenge :D. Spent £95.19 in ASDA  but hopefully no cleaning or toiletries needed for the rest of the month. So welcome to June , Bring it on x
