What a nightmare re the ebay stuff- it's depressing when people are so dishonest. I didn't see this week's Africa programme but last week was shocking- I agree it makes you appreciate what you have - it's scary to think how much money is spent in the West by wanting rather than needing stuff.Debts at LBW Jan 11 CCs TOTAL 41,300

You're right TH it is awful. I spent more on coat hangers yesterday than some of these people have to live on in a week:eek:. There's no fairness in the world but selfishly I am glad I have my life albeit I am skint. We have food, a home, and adequate heat, light and clothing.
Spent £48.10 in ASDA yesterday. Got a good few meals in that though so was quite pleased. I still have £20 for petrol so that will do me until next weekend.
Car is going in for MOT next week but has a squealy noise coming from it now ( female mechanical technical term :rotfl:) so I reckon I am not going to get off too lightly with the bill. I thought I had £250 put away but nearer to £150 unfortunately so I will just need to keep my fingers crossed that will cover it.
Doubt very much I will meet my challenge for ARGOS by 19th April but it is not that important. No interest kicks in until June and it will be well cleared by then.
We have major snow here again ana I am going to struggle to get to my mum's today but hey ho we could be in Japan. My thoughts are very much with them today xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

just got my mum's birthday pressie and I know she will totally love it. Got tickets for Dirty Dancing :jfor her and I. It comes to Glasgow In November so hopefully she will still be fit enough to attend then. The excellent thing is because I am taking her in a wheelchair I get for free, that's my favourite price as well :rotfl:. I am well pleased. Evita is coming in June and I would love love love to see that. Might ask my mates and see who would like to go.

Just been on my snowball and if I manage to pay off ARGOS by end of April then I can knock a month off of my dfd. So that's my goal.
I took a heater back to argos today. I had taken out an insurance for it and it fell down a couple of stairs and didn't work any more. Got a brand new heater and got a halogen one this time as I heard they are much cheaper to run than convection heaters5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Not heard of halogen- I might check them out for the cold spots in our house. OH broke our last one a couple of months ago trying to dry some plaster by having it on 24/7 for 3 days- he was the only one who seemed quite surprised it died.

Hi It was about 6 inches yesterday but is melting now. I live on top of a hill so we get it really bad. The whole of the valley can be snow free and we are wading about up to our knees. We usually know when it is on the way as we can see Ben Lomond covered in it and we can get ready. Yesterday my mum just had rain and I had called her to say we were waiting on the plow and gritter to come and we ended up sending her a pic as she didn't quite believe me :rotfl:. I am getting quite proficient at driving in it these days.
I lost 4lbs this week so I am well pleased with that. I was beginning to think it was never going to shift. I went off sweets, cakes, biscuits and crisps on Wednesday there for Lent so that is obviously helping.
Up bright and early as DS is away out with my brother. They do this radio thing in conjunction witht he Red Cross at events and today there is a half marathon. He is away in his hi-viz jacket all full of importance, with a fiver for a hot roll and a drink. Hopefully no other spends for me today as I need what I have left for petrol.
Off to do some housework. 1 load of wash already in machine. DD still in bed and if she is in the same mood as yesterday then I hope she stays there as I can't be dealing witht he drama and the tears ( and for no apparent reason). Think she might be getting herself a bit stressed over her exams. She didn't do as well in her prelims as she had hoped so she is working hard to bring her grades up by May when the Highers start. It's a shame actually but I refuse to walk around on egg shells for the next 2 months whilst Princess tippy toes screeches at us all.

TH I got the heater in ARGOS for £46 plus about a £10 for insurance. Heats up instantly and has 4 heat settings so pretty good value I reckon. I hope I am right about it being cheaper but it just can't be any more expensive than the convector ones .......can it?5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I read an earlier post about MBNA rates being the worst, you can try your luck...
I have a virgin credit card (MBNA) and my minimum monthly payment was only paying the interest! So i rang them and asked what the rate was... 34.9%!!! So asked them to change it as i was only paying interest each month and i had been with them a while, the lady hmmmed then asked me to hold, a minute later she came back and said the manager has agreed a new rate, 29.9% - not much i know but better than nothing i say! Try it, Good Luck! :money:[STRIKE]Car Finance - £6500[/STRIKE]
