So sorry to hear about your liver. At least it is treatable even though the eating guidesline dont sound like too much fun. You have done the right thing in increasing the food budget. Its so unfair that its cheaper to eat poorly. Was just saying that on Majjeks thread yesterday.
Fingers crossed ebay goes well.:j0 -
Sorry to hear about your results- you sound very determined with your healthy eating plan and you're so right that health comes first, it's just not worth risking is it. Do they give you guidance or do you just have to work out a plan for yourself? Shame they can't supply a personal chef as part of the treatment
I agree about e-bay- it's so tedious but I hope the effort proves to have been worth it next week.Debts at LBW Jan 11 CCs TOTAL 41,300

I'm just fed up today as I feel it's one step forward in my life and 10 back. I'll be fine tomorrow. At least the house is clean and the ironing done lol. There's always a plus side to me getting scunnered5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

so sorry to hear about your results, but your on the right track thinking about things positively! Cost of eating healthy is ridiculous though, we went shopping last week and spent near £70 on food that literally lasted THE week! £280 a month for 2 people is crazy when only 2 years ago we were able to shop for £120!! the price of health seems silly, and the wrong way round to poor eating!
I know there was a scheme in England recently where a big store like asdas or something was giving families wanting a healthier lifestyle £10 voucher for fruit and veg every week - was gutted when I saw that ONLY England was involved in the scheme because theres plenty of us Brits who want to eat healthy, cant always afford it yet cant even take advantage of these great schemes because of where we live!!
Wishing you all the best on your new eating plan, Im sure you will do great!Life is what you make it.0 -
Evening all! Got my mojo back
. Went to ALDI and spent £20.42 on healthy 'stuff ' . Lots of fruit, veg, cold meat and sugar free sweets. They do a wee selection of hard boiled sugar free sweets and they are really nice. Totally help out with the cravings. I only end up eating about 4 or 5 a day and keep them on my desk in work. Typical office where there are sweets and cakes galore but my body is now a temple lol.
Lay awake half the night thinking about this turn of events in my life and have decided to embrace it. I will get beautifully slim and be a pure babe with limits on my diet :rotfl:and my nights out will be mega cheap as I will not be buying any alcohol. So it's all good. I will increase my shopping budget from £250 to £300 a month and see how I get on with that. Should manage to eat a well balanced diet on that no bother. I am also going to get more adventurous with my cooking and try some different foods. I am not a big fish eater but I am going to have a go and see if I can maybe make some nice fish dishes. I absolutely hate bones though. They make me want to puke. My brother said that monkfish have no bones so might start with some of that- or fishcakes
.
No exercise as yet but my brother is going to join me on a walk twice a week and I am starting zumba next week twice per week. Half moneysaving and half not for exercise plan. I hate exercise. I am hoping I will get this rush that everyone talks about , never had it up to now mind you.
1st day out of training on my new job today. It was fine. Not much difference tbh from the job I did 2 years ago so I will pick it up really quick. Knackered tonight mind you as the old brain cells have had to kick in again. I will enjoy this though. Just my type of work. Busy, busy, busy.
I hope everyone is well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Good for you MIT, I like your attitude.
I am sure you will manage OK on the new shopping budget. We normally spend well under £400/month for six of us - including everyone's lunches - and that's buying only healthy food. We live in the south east of england which is mega pricey so I am sure you will find healthy eating is no more expensive once you've sussed out a few basic menus.
Hope you enjoy the zumba. I don't even know what that is! But anything beginning with z must be fun.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Sea it is fun but bl**dy exhausting bet then I am so unfit everything exhausts me so that's no real gauge of it :rotfl:. That's good to hear that you can feed 6 on £400 so I should manage no bother to feed 3 and a hamster on £300. DS is moaning re lack of snacks in house. Tough
!!
Was at my gaelic class tonight and one of the other people there is a consultant. I mentioned to her about the test results and she said' och dont worry about that, so long as you do as your doctor has told you then it is totally reversible' So I am even more determined now to sort this out once and for all. My itchy skin is driving me crazy and that's even with an anti-histamine taken today .
I spent £3 today on a lunch for DS. Sent in £50 ( paid by my mum) as deposit for DS's trip. Will just need to wait now and see if he is picked. Part of me hopes not because of the cost :oand part of me says yes as he will have magical memories.
Am shattered now as been on new job all day today and my brain hurts :rotfl:so good night and hope you are all well today xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Glad you've got your mojo back- you sound very sorted. I totally empathise about teenage boys and snacks- my DS (14) will be hungry 30 minutes after a massive dinner and pudding- it must cost a fortune for families with multiple sons!Debts at LBW Jan 11 CCs TOTAL 41,300

Great to see what a fab attitude you have!
I know zumba well, I have a few friends who go every week and I also know of someone else who teaches zumba twice a week in Scotland - always looks like fun, not sure its for me, confidence thing I think but good on you for starting! Everyone I know who does it quickly becomes addicted!!Life is what you make it.0
