ok better news now. I called my mum and told her about the trip. She is paying the deposit and has said she will pay for half of the trip. DS and I have chatted about it and I have told him he will need to save all the spending money for it. I also told him that his ski suit etc would have to be for his Christmas. He will need a new passport too as it runs out this year. I will manage somehow and thanks to my mum things are much better now than they were earlier
.
Just remembered that his 2 cousins went skiing with school so I speak to their mum and see what she has in the clothing line that I could borrow. Quite good that his birthday is December and also Christmas as I will just make a list of what he needs and get everyone to buy them.
I have no choice as I WILL NOT tell him no. As I said earlier if it adds a couple of months to my dfd then so be it. He will have a lifetime of memories and it will be worth every penny spent.
Weeclick my dd didn't tell me in her first year of high school that there was a trip to France as she knew it would be a struggle for me. It was only one night when she started crying that I found out that all her friends were going and I had no idea it was even an option. I spoke to both the kids then and told them never to do that again as I would decide if I could afford it or not and that that was not their job to decide for me. Never had a problem since but I do make them help with costs of trips as much as they can. Am going to phone up tomorrow for DS to get a paper round and see if I can get him a wee bit money to help him with his savings. I hope he gets picked now :rotfl:.
KP no point in DS speaking to ex as he didnt help with DD until it was time to go and he gave her some pocket money. I really needed the help to pay for the trip but he will only dish out the cash when it makes him look good. I had no money left to give her pocket money so he was the hero of the hour. I'm glad you've a plan for your DS's ski trip- it makes me feel quite guilty but I only wish my DD's school trip was £745 instead of £1350- I would feel we could have managed that.
Is he going at Easter or Feb half term? Although it is too late for this trip (the £1350 one is Easter 2012), I am thinking of writing to the head and requesting that they do a ski trip in 2013 to Europe instead of USA and make it more affordable so she could go.Debts at LBW Jan 11 CCs TOTAL 41,300

That's a great idea T.H. The school have to take on board that there are parents who would love their children to have this opportunity, but that price, is a non-starter for most families. The trip is in Jan/ Feb next year but would no doubt have to be paid just after summer recess. I am so glad I have said yes as he is so excited.
Ordered ds a new phone last night. His contract is only £10 per month but recently he has gone over it a few times so I have got him a slightly larger package which includes internet and more texts. It will save me money in the long run. I also wanted to change my phone and DD's phone. Virgin obviously employ foreign call centres to do their sales as god help me I couldn't understand a word that the poor girl was saying on the phone. I felt so rude asking her to repeat herself all the time. I actually gave up trying and said I would just leave DD's and my own phone as I couldnt carry on. As soon as you veer from their script they cannot answer you. She kept repeating the same thing to me. I could not get the phone I wanted on the tarrif I wanted. The website say that you can but she was adamant that no you could not. Never mind I will go through quidco and get some cashback and just keep the phone I have. During the conversation with her I managed to buy a sim card with £10 on it for a fiver :rotfl::rotfl:. No bl**dy idea how that happened.:rotfl:.
Going to make tablet tonight and a bakewell tart. My class have asked me to make the tart and I will surprise them with tablet as well. I have manage another £7.50 today for Argos soI have paid £37.50 this week from the target of £37.82. I'll add the 32p to next week's and will strive to pay £38.14 next week so I am on track. Getting pretty low on funds mind you . Ok am away to bake

It'll never make me thin lol. Made from condensed milk, sugar, milk and butter. Boiled until ready ( I do this by eye) and then whisked to within an inch of its life and put into baking tray. It sets and is a fabulous, tooth rotting sweetie. I dont think there is a scots man or woman who doesnt love it. I hate to think of the calories in it and have never been brave enough to work it out. My training finishes tomorrow, consolidaton starts Tuesday so this is a treat. Bakewell is lush btw

Well I am a big fat piggy tonight as I have not stopped eating all day. Took in tablet and cake and we had that for breaks and then we went to the local Indian for lunch. OMG it was amazing. I am still full. It was a buffet and I love those as it gives me a chance to taste all the different dishes. I like spicy foods but I hate them too hot. Dont mind some heat but can't stand when they burn the mouth off of you. I had pakora ( variety of) Bombay bread, popadums ( many of ) chaat, tandoori chicken and that was just my starter :rotfl:. Then had chips, rice, naan, more poppadums, korma, tikka and a lamb curry. Then had the cheek to have cheesecake. Bl**dy fantastic. I had a beer and a juice ( forgot I wasn't drinking alcohol) and all for a tenner
. Worth every penny. I'm going out for lunch again on Sunday. No weight loss for me this week I reckon. In fact I think I may end up with weight on
.
DS's phone has not yet arrived. It was put on the wrong van apparently and him and his sister have stayed in the last 2 days waiting on it. Coming tomorrow between 8 and 1. Forgot to say that whilst I was on the phone I ended up buying a pay as you go SIM card as I thought the girl said it was free and came with £10 credit BUT it cost me a fiver . I have no need for pay as you go SIMS as we are all on contracts so I was raging. I spoke nicely to the fellow I got today and he has refunded the fiver into my account. So I now have a tenner on a SIM which will do me whilst I wait on my new phone number. Result
I also got a reply from ASDA nad they have sent me a gift card with £10 on it for my inconvenience. This complaining mallarkey definitely pays off :rotfl:.
All in all a good wee day today. E-bay have free listings this weekend so I am going to get my butt in gear and find some stuff to put on it.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Good Morning ! Up waiting on the courier delivering DS's phone. It had better arrive today or you will all hear me regardless of your location as I will go off my rocker. It's all right to waste the kids time waiting on a delivery , but not mine
. Just came on for 5 mins and on facebook one of my son's friends has announced to the world that he is gay. He's only 13 !! I am desperate for DS to get out of bed to have a wee chat about this one!! Don't think the wee lad knows what he is to be honest as last week he was making all these comments about not being gay just because he wanted to die his hair purple. I think he is an attention seeker cos last year I caught him and DS looking at nude pictures on the internet. Time will tell and he'll still be the same wee boy that has hung about this house since he was 3 yrs old. I feel quite sad for him actually. If he is attention seeking then this is a bit extreme and if he is not then there will be many difficult days in front of him. I have a few gay friends and I know the prejudices they deal with all the time. Well he'll have allies in me and my family anyway if he needs them
.
Am going to do lots and lots of washing this morning. In between that I am going to finish clearing under my stairs as I have a few things in ther for e-baying. I also have a couple of jackets and suits that I bought from e-bay and have never managed to get into so I am going to get them listed as well. Am struggling to get my target payment this month so if I manage to sell then then that will help me and if there is anything left over I will put it away incase DS gets picked for the ski trip.
Off I trot then into the wonderful world of the cupboard under the stairs5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
