Sorry to hear about your mum being so ill. Glad she is home at least and hope you she is comfortable as can be. And as for your daughter - these kids do like to test our patience. I have one daughter definitely not going to university (hasn't applied) and one that is wavering. I'm trying to persuade her to go.

  • Hi folks. Just got a few minutes tonight as heading back into mum's to get her into bed. She's not fussed on the carer that's booked in for her tonight so I told her to cancel her and I would get her to bed. It's just a one off as she is still very weak. All she wanted tonight was porridge for dinner :p. Never mind, she ate the lot with loads of milk so at least a load of goodness in it for her and will keep her going until the morning. My best mate is visiting with her until I get back in and my brother is also popping in to see her. I hate putting her to bed as locking her in and leaving her is very very difficult for me. I worry so much that something will happen in the house and she can't move to get out. When her carers go in I never even think about it :(. Never mind I'm happy to go in and sort her out.

Anyway to money. Spending too much as per usual. My mum put £100 into my account today as she knows how much we end up spending going backwards and forwards to the hospital. God love her :D. I'll just pay the £100 towards DS's trip. We would normally pay £40 each anyway so I will just pay some extra this month and get it paid a bit quicker. Just actually updated my spending diary and have actually only spent £3.60 today :rotfl: just shows how used to not spending I am that when I actually spend anything I feel totally wicked. No maintenance so far this week so nothing since last Monday but not overly bothered as really going to try and keep the majority of it this month for debt if I can manage it. Getting £30 this weekend for cleaning so am just away to pay that off of my 0% card right now and get back on track with using that money for debt as it has been sneaking into my purse and that was never the plan. Ok have to go. Hope you are all well xx

  • Well I am just a puddle. Put mum to bed and my kids are always demostrative with her as they are with me and tell her they love her but it's not something we ever did as a family and for the first time I can ever remember my mum told me she loved me :D.I knew she did but it was so nice to hear her say it :D. Was scared to leave her though :o.

Ah, that's lovely, that must have meant a lot to hear her say that.

    feel better MIT, :(
  • Thanks Toots I will. Just had a nice wee lie down and heating up nicely now.

Received the £65 of marks and spencers vouchers from RAC from when I took out my home insurance :D. The insurance has also ttracked on Quidco so hopefully get that soon too :D. I'm not sure whether to use the vouchers for gifts or to sell them on e-bay. I'll think about it.I could always buy myself something nice. Now there's a thought. Or get some summer clothes for DS for going to France. Many many directions as per usual that this money can go. I know this may sound selfish but I cannot wait until all I need to think about is what nice thing I will buy with any money I get in. I'll know then that I have succeeded in my mission to pay off my debt.

I'm away to browse M&S and pretend I can squander it :rotfl:

  • Hi folks. Shattered tonight as unfortunately I never have time to be sick so have been running around mad all day as per usual and now just want to slob on couch.
I went to M&S today and spent my money wisely. I bought a set of pots and a small dinner set :D. I also bought a gravy boat so we can stop using a mug for our gravy :rotfl:. It never bothered me until DD's boyfriend was here for dinner and I realised how minging it looked. I spent about £10 on goodies for us as well as it was free money so it was nice to get some nice things. i am going to toss out all my mismatched and chipped plates and we will be well posh :D. This is my first step to my new kitchen :rotfl:. Probably as good as I can get any time soon anyway. I decided to buy the dishes from Marks as I can add to them as I go along and I got plain white so it will be easy to dress it all up. I am happy with it all. One of the very posh houses we help clean has all white crockery and I am determined to replace all my bits and bobs for nice white ones.

Went into my mum's and sorted her out for the day and made her dinner. She is coming on well but OMG she wants everything done yesterday. I am just so not like her as I really dont bother about all the stupid things that worry her. It drives me nuts. She does not make any concession for illness other than her own :rotfl:. In saying that, she has always been like that and that is probably why I rarely lie down to sickness and usually work my way through it. Tonight though I am going to chill and eat cookies whilst doped up with antibiotics and paracetamol and hopefully tomorrow I will be a new woman :D

  • you know I love my son to bits but OMG he tests my patience greatly at time. I went to the loo there and it was a bit messy. I knew it was DS who had made the mess but I thought I'd just clean it quickly rather than start moaning. I took out my loo brush and nearly puked. I will not go into details but suffice to say it has been binned. I swear that boy would try the patience of a saint . It cost me a fortune too . Tol him he is replacing it with his own money so maybe next time he will think twice about leaving that mess. Minging little sh*t. Boak !!

  • No spend today. DD and I have cleaned the house from top to bottom and all beds changed :D. DS has finished his paper round so we.ve all been hard at it today.I absolutely love when the whole house is done as it rarely happens :p.

Got M&S chicken pie, peas, sweetcoen and new potatoes for dinner then jam sponge for pudding. Yum Yum. Looking forward to it.

I've thrown out my old skanky pots and all my mismatched dishes and mugs are in boxes to take to a car boot sale. I have got to find time this year to go to a decent car boot as I have loads to sell. Our summer house is full of 'stuff'.

I think I am going to take a couple days off sick to get over this chest infection as I am exhausted with it and my chest is really sore and I am worried that if I go to work as well as everyhting else then I will keel over at some point and be of no use to anyone. I'll see how I go. I'm rarely off sick so am not overly worried about it.

Anyways I am going to chill for the rest of the day other than chasing washing around the radiators to dry it and cooking dinner. Going to have a wee read around the boards and see whats going on. xx
