  • :rotfl:Your poor husband. That told him. You're so right though. There is such a blame culture just now and it does my head in. Everyone need to take responsibility for themselves and also take the blame when things go t*ts up. I reckon that unless we accept the blame then we will never learn from doing things wrong.

DD really surprises me with her attitude to her father as I could never be hard with him :rotfl:. I am glad she doesn't let him away with it.

I ot 3 weeks worth of maintenacne today :D £220 :D. DS has been moaning that his undies were getting too tight ( major growth spurt) so I spent £16 on boxers for him tonight and I spent £64 on food. I need to stop beating myself up about how much I am spending on food. I have realised that I am spending lots as I have had to provide lots of easy to cook things for the kids as I am at my mum's a lot and fast foods are expensive. So I just have to accept that at the minute I can't really change this and I will just do my very best and try and ensure that I waste as little as possible.

I had borrowed £100 from my Christmas account so I am going to repay that and get DS's passport away this week. He got the pics taken last weekend so it's good to go. Lots going on and I am shattered as I have pulled a muscle or something and I am in agony and popping pain killers. They're making me sleepy too so its not so good. Never mind I'll no doubt be fine in the next day or so ;)

  • Ach I'll be fine Jacci. Just having a run of bad luck health wise just now.

Jelly I forgot to say, I managed to get doors from a friend last year for my units but then discovered that my kitchen is non standard size so I couldn't fit the doors or I would have done that :(. So it's got to be a refit

  • TGIF :D
It's been a hard slog this week guys. Been in pain all week but thankfully I have not had to pop painkillers all day today so hopefully things are on the mend as far as my back is concerned :D. My house needs cleaned but am scared to start on it in case I hurt myself again as I am doing my wee cleaning job tomorrow and not wanting to be in agony again. My house will just have to wait. I'm pretty sure I hurt myself lifting my mum so I am going to have to be very careful when I need to do that. She has to be helped from chair to commode/ wheelchair etcbut she is just a dead weight so it is not easy.

Anyway, to money matters. Need to change my sig as another payment made to my £10k in 2012 and just about to pay tomorrows wages off of my CC. I'm not going to manage my 100 day challenge but it was a huge challenge I had set myself so am not overly bothered.

I'm hopefully getting my mojo back and am rsring to go. I joined the slimming club on Tuesday. I know it is an expense I could do without but tbh I need to get some weight off as I reckon that's why I keep hurting my back so it is a necessary expense for me. I've been an angel this week with food so am hopeful for a good weight loss next week. I need to as I only have 2 pairs of trousers that fit me :o:rotfl:.

I'm watching this morning's homes under the hammer and as per usual property excites me hugely. I am hoping that this summer I can get some work done out in my garden. I obviously have no money to spend so it will mainly be labour intensive stuff. I want to try and level it as it has a slope on it and I know I will have to buy some edging. I also have 3 large tree stumps that I would love rid of but I'm not sure if that's possible or not. I'll look into it. Lots of plans in my head again. I hope everyone is hale and hearty xx

  • Just been doing my sums and gazing at my snowball :D. I've set it at £500 per month and so far this month I have paid £588.09 so I am well over. I have knocked a month off of DFD but will update at the end of the month as once the interest goes on this may change :(. My monthly interest is reducing mind you so that is good.

One of my big challenges that I have set myself is to pay off my bank of scotland CC by end of August as the 0% ends then but I owe £3,600 on it so it is a huge challenge for me. It would be just over £500 per month from now until then. I have DS's France trip before then but it's nearly paid off, he is saving his spending money himself. I will need to buy him clothes but would need to have done that anyway. I also have DD's 18th birthday. She wants a laptop for that. Preferably pink  cos it's cool apparently. I am saving for Christmas but I should be able to use £400 from that account to buy it for her cash so no money will be added to my debt. My mum has already said that she will take us all out for dinner on the night of DD's birthday so I don't need to think about that. I also have a weekend away with friends in August but that will be paid for and I will have some spending money saved for that as well. Got my MOT next month too and car really needs a wee service but I will shop around and see what price I can get it for. Car is nearly 7 year old now so I really need to start taking a bit of care of it ;).

So all in all I'm pretty organised and I am just going to keep positive and go for it big time. I'm still going to buy decent food etc but I can make savings in other areas for sure. So bring on the challenge and off I go :T

  • What a dreich day today. Freezing cold and snow flurries. Brrrrr

Did my cleaning job this morning. Disgusted at the way some people think they can leave a place. It was minging. The people hadn't even taken the birthday banners down that they had put up. There were bits of furniture moved all round the house. It's all very well moving things to suit but I would never ever leave somewhere without cleaning up and returning it to its original state. Think of the poor cleaners folks :rotfl:. We spent an extra half hour in the house today and we don't get paid for that. There are weeks we manage it slightly quicker than the hours we are paid so am not too bothered as its swings and roundabouts.

Went to Morrisons for my mum. Very dangerous place to be. I spent £11.68 on shopping and 97p on 4 sundae dishes and £1 on a pizza tray for the oven. So far rthis year I have spent £564.05 on food shopping. There are only 3 of us !!!!!!!! In saying that there can be a few mates wandering in and out and they always want fed. I have given myself a £3k budget for food for the year but I reckon the prices are going up so much that that'll be a toughie. Oh well I enjoy tough so I'll do my best :D.

No other spends or anything to report so all is well.

  • I love Sundays :D. It's the only day of the week that I have to myself and I love love love them. Granted I still need to do the housewifey stuff but hey I get bored sitting about for too long.

I have cooked one of the slimming world curries for tomorrow night's dinner and it is fab-u-lous. Has a nice wee heat to it as well. My son loves curries and he has given it the nod of approval.

Ham, potatoes, cabbage, corn and carrots for dinner. Melon for starters and there's yourts for pudding if anyone wants some.

DS has his friend here for dinner. I'm always feeding someone. DD is at her friends and has been since yesterday but she will be home to eat. This is the issue with being a half decent cook. Kids mates want to eat here and my kids dont want to eat elsewhere :rotfl:.

House downstairs is nice and tidy. Upstairs is not too bad but going to get DD to clean the loo an dher bedroom and get DS to hoover stairs and hall and his bedroom. My room is fine and one of them can run the hoover around it for me.

Should really get some more washing done and will do that soon . I'll iron tonight and all will be well.

All in all everything is going good and I am nice and chilled. NSD today as not going anywhere.

  • Hmm no takers then ?? Don't blame you ;)

Nothing very exciting happening in my household at the minute. On the countdown till payday now money wise. I'll hopefully have a wee bit of back pay as I have given up my term time so a wee bit extra in my wage every month. I phoned last week to report the change to the tax credits and failed the security questions so have to go in on Thursday with I.D. I was bloody furious and let them have it both barrels as the ecurity questions were so innocuous I dunno how anyone could answer the bloody things. Everyone in my team was rolling about laughing because we fail folks on security in my work too and I end up on the phone to the irate ones :rotfl:. Tres embarrassing :o:o. So not sure how much I will lose from tax credits but will wait and see.

Went to slimming club an dlost 3lbs. I was a bit disappointed with that as it is my first week and you usually get a huge loss in 1st week so of course I solved my disappointment and went to the chippy . Other than that all I've spent yesterday and today is kids lunch money so all is well :D. I hope everyone is ok xx

  • What a day. My mum was getting a new lazy boy chair delivered today so I decided to take a wee half day flexi so I could get it sorted for her. Left work at 1pm and got home at 9.10 :eek:. Was in my mum's about an hour and got a call from the school, DD had yawned and cracked her jaw and was in agony. I took her to the local hospital and they sent us to the bug A&E which is almost 20 miles away . We were there for hours as it was crazily busy. Really sick kids and old dears being brought in so we were obviously left a while. Then two junkies started kickin off and I just wanted out ASAP. Thankfully DD has just really hurt her jaw but no apparent damage so sent home with painkillers and no toffees etc for a while.

So I overspent today as I was starving at the hospital so bought sandwiches. Then bought a mcd's on way home as I would still be cooking if I hadn't. So much for my nice wee half day off :rotfl:. Never mind. All's well that ends well :D
