Do you ever feel like your life's one big car crash?
Every time you turn round another problem or drama sparks up?
Well that's my life just now. And it's pants. Really busy day yesterday was followed by another really busy day today. I am shattered. Left house at 8am. Went to meeting with HMRC as I failed their stupid security questions last week and had to prove my I.D. Then went to work. Everything was going okay until my mum phoned and told me one of her best friends had died. Now we've known this woman for 30 years or so and it was quite a shock. in between this DS was texting from school about tummy pains so I had to call doc and get an emergency appointment for him. Had to leave work early to take him there. Took DS home and then went to my mum's to see her and to make her dinner. Whilst there I gutted half of her kitchen. Came home, cooked for DD and I and then sat down :rotfl:.
I swear if tomorrow is as bad then I am running away :rotfl: I hope you all had a better day xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hope you feel better KP. Busy day today but hopefully a quieter one tomorrow. I'm meeting my friends in the afternoon but just for a nice wee catch up and chat so shouldn't be too expensive.
I picked up a few things in poundland and Morrisons today but only spent £15 in all. DD away to a party tonight so just DS and I and he is on his x-box so I am just going to chill and do a catch up on here and get as much washing as I can done. My god I know how to live don't I :rotfl:

Good morning folks. It's Sunday
. My favourite day of the week. Extra special today as going out for some afternoon tea with my friends. 'm going to leave instructions for what I want done with the kids and I am offski.
I've made lasagne for the dinner so we'll have that and Garlic bread. I have some !!!!-a-leekie soup in freezer so I'll defrost that and that'll be us sorted. Not your traditional Sunday dinner but hey ho we'll enjoy it. 'm almost up to date with the washing. I just wish it was a nice blowy day to get it out to dry but it is damp and dreich here so no chance of that.
need to take DS's passport with me so I can get one of my friends to sign it and I can send it off for him tomoorrow. I bought some sun tan lotion and after sun for him th eother day as it was BOGOF in Boots. I have £115 to pay in March and his trip will be paid offso only the clothes to get. That'll be a nightmare as DS lives in jogging trousers and t-shirts so it'll be a battle to get him to get some shorts. But I'll win
.
Just going to do an online order for ASDA to get delivered on Wednesday. Looks like I am averaging about £300 per month for shopping which is not too bad. It could be better but I'll be paying off this debt for ages so I need to find a happy medium. I'm happy with between £250 and £300.
I was looking at the amount I pay for phones( mobile and house) and television and broadband. It's a disgrace tbh. I am about £115 per month . We do have extra channels and we do watch them and we also have high speed internet access. I manage to justify this to myself because we do not have big social lives and we all use the internet constantly and we all love the telly but OMG it's a lot of money.
I was also looking back at the days when I had 6 credit cards and a car loan still in the debt mix. I just dont know how I managed. I was getting no money then from ex either. So what I think I am trying to tell myself is that I could be doing a lot better :rotfl:. I think I'll do an up to date SOA and shock myself into getting a grip. In fact yes I will. I'll be back in a bit with it for you all to attack :rotfl:. xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Dunno where the planner is that I can download but just did Martin's budget planner and it said I only had £1.17 per month left . I was feeling all virtuous and patting myself on the back etc until I remembered that I hadn't added in my £54 per week tax credits so I am actually £235 in credit :rotfl:. So this means I can pay another £235 per month easily as I have included everything else in my budget. So I am going to just keep going as I am as I seem to be on the right tracks with what I am doing. My minimums for my debt are about £310 per month and I try and pay at least £500 ( and normally pay more) so I am pretty much spot on. I could reduce my outgoings a bit more I am sure but I will just go with the flow just now. I'm away now to get some food and then get showered ready to meet my friends5 Year plan. :jJust transferred another £1900 onto 0% for 20 months. My credit rating seems to be fab at the minute. If I follow the snowball I'll have this one paid off before 0% is paid off. I'm not sure what to do with paying off what is left. Snowball is telling me to pay off the 2 0% cards first but I am tempted to concentrate on the highest interest one and get rid of that as I reckon when the 0% deals run out I will be able to get new ones. My most expensive cc is Virgin @ 15 % and I have £1,200 on it which I could try really hard to get rid of by the summer. I am pretty sure I would manage it
.
Just did a wee alternative snowball showing how things will go if I pay off highest interest first. Even if I don't balance transfer at the end of my 0% deals my dfd will be the same. So it's a no brainer as far as I am concerned and I will now be focusing on my Virgin card and getting rid of it. That'll be my next 100 day challenge. I really am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel folks and it feels good. Flickering ever so dimly at the minute but it is definitely there. I'll need to call Barclaycard tomorrow and close that account as they are always doing decent 0% transfers so come September when I need one then they should be ripe for the picking. This is so exciting having a credit rating again. I'm very happy

Been a busy bee tonight. Went to look on my Barclaycard account to check for a number to call up and close account abd noticed I had a balance transfer offer of 6.9% LOB so I transferred £1,100 from a 15% card and £1520 from a 10% card. Now I have managed to shave 2 months off of my DFD with a couple of calls and online shuffling and wait for it.............drum roll please...............I have save dmyself £879.00 in interest  !!!!!!:eek:. That is so exciting
. My interest each month is going down to about £50 per month from £170 per month last year. I could cry with joy I am so so happy. That means nearly everything I am paying will actually be paying my debt and not just interest. So excited :rotfl:. My interest may be even less than this as one of my CC's has a 4% rate on it and a 16% rate on it so some of the 16% will have gone over to 6.9 %
.
I am so so motivated again as I will not be working just to pay interest:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I know KP and you know how much I hatre paying nterest so I am really excited about this. I am just so happy that near enough everything I m gong to pay wll actually come off my totals.
So today have been thnking and I am going to concentrate for the moment on my Halifax card. There is a large chunk of that card sitting at 16.4% and then a balance transfer sitting at 4% so my plan of action s as follows.
Concentrate on Halifax until 16.94% paid off
BOS - Standing order for minimum until Sept then BT to another 0%
RBS- SO for 20 months then BT to another 0%
Virgin - pay off tiny balance and close ( then should be able to do BT in months to come
Barclaycard- SO for minimum but will be the next one to concentrate on after Halifax's high interest balance has gone.
Now this probabaly makes no sense to anyone but me but hey ho as long as I know what I am doing. I reckon this will be the cheapest way I can repay.
Payday on Wednesday :j. I have a few expenses this month mind you so I'll need to be very very careful. I'll ensure all minmums are paid and then stick a couple of hundred into my savings account to cover my MOT. Then if it is not as expensive as that then I can use that to overpay. DD wants a pink Dell laptop for her 18th so I need to start shoppng around for the best deal/ cashback etc. My head s whizzing with everything I need to do but it's all good and not overwhelming me,
Spent £47 on petrol today but I had a 15p off a litre voucher so 35 litres = £5 discount. Only other spends were lunches. I'm going to go and do my monthly ASDA shop too for delivery on Wednesday night. I'll be back later5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
