  • Hello there. My mind has been ticking over great guns on ways to make some money. I have a wee idea and I wanted some feedback from you guys. I sell stuff on e-bay, Amazon etc all the time when I do a clear out but was going to say to my friends and family that would sell their stuff for them and take 25% of their net profit for my time. What do you think? It's something I can do in the evenings and would not be that much that I would get rich or anything but until my tax credits stop and I can get a part time job then it all helps. Is 25% too much?

  • That's my cross trainer up for sale. On local site and see if it sells there. If not then it can go into yellow pages. Gathering dust in my lounge as it hurts my back to use it. Fingers crossed it goes quickly as annoying me now :)

  • That's. A great idea MIT. There's a company where we live that do that for people, sell there stuff and keep a percentage.
You have no real overheads so no real hassle. Oly thing is if you have time. And make sure you take your listing fees out of it As well so you not out of pocket.

  • Hi jelly bean. It would be 25% of the net profit I would take. So postage, fees, paypal fees etc would all come off first. Going to work my way through my stuff first and then sound out my closest pals. Quite exciting really. I need to learn how to use the turbolister mind you as I have no clue :p

  • 'groan'. Way too many ciders last night and my head is bouncing today :o. When will I learn I'm too old for partying. One of my staff was leaving yesterday and he is a really nice guy so I really felt I had to go along. TYpical though, I never go out in Glasgow and the one night I go there's a mad bomber and everywhere was being evacuated :rotfl:. Luckily I was at the other end of the town. I spent about £35 all in so not too bad, but all that cider and no food, oh dear is all I can say. Also they were all in their twenties and here was I at 46 . I had them up dancing to the ceilidh band doing the gay gordons :rotfl: and they loved it. He was hugging me before I left and said that the section had gone to sh*t since I had left :D which perversely pleased me. So 11 hours sleep last night and still shattered. Defo too old for this.

DD has dumped her boyfriend and it is all very dramatic as he is devastated. She also got a long e-mail reply from her dad about the e-mail she sent him three weeks ago. He is very hurt at what she has said and wants to try again but she said to me that she really couldn't care less and wouldn't be replying to him. In a way I am glad as I have obviously brought her up to be nobodys mug but I am also sad that he has messed things up so badly that she has not one minute of time for him. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it I'm afraid. Why do absent parents let their kids go like that and then act all heart broken. Makes me so mad .

So just going to chill and get an early night as I am shattered. Hope everyone is well xx

  • Poor Whitney Houston. What a waste of another fabulous talent. She has just thrown her life away. It is so sad when people are given the gift of life and they wreck it. I see it all the time. People who do nothing to better themselves. Folks who dont want to and never will work. Folks who spend all day every day thinking of how they will get their next drink/drugs etc. Why? What a waste of a life. I constantly strive to be better and to get me and mine a better life and I just dont get it when others seem hell bent on destroying theirs. I know some folks have not had the best starts etc but my life has not been easy either an dit just makes me all the more determined to make sure I rise above all the carp and improve things. I am a strong independant woman :rotfl:

Anyway. I have a day of being my children's taxi driver :(. Just dropped DD at work and DS going to his friends later so will take him there. Need to pick both of them up again too. In between running about after them I will get my washing cleared and tidy up. I've told DS he is not going out until he has cleaned the kitchen so he better get his butt out of his bed and get on with it pronto. I have no ontentions of spending any money today so hopefully that'll stay the same as things are pretty tight this week ( what's new :rotfl:). Have a lovely Sunday folks xx

  • MIT I don't know if u r aware but. In b and q u can buy there take away kitchens, you can purchase the doors separately.
I done this in my old house as couldn't afford a new kitchen as quite often they have 50 pc off I think I bought 12 doors for about 85 quid.
You just seem so busy and the man hours it takes to do the doors is a lot as I found out in my first house lol I know it's not mse by buying new ones but prob easier to maintain.
I neede a cupboard in our house we are in now and phoned the company the builder used and they wanted 1000 for a 1000mm unit. I couldn't believe it could do whole kitchen for that. I bought the unit and change the 500mm door in utility room and with a wine rack bought a 300mm door for the open unit and the plinth for the top of unit and cost 150 instead! What rip off some of these companies are.

I understand totally about your daughter an her dad. I'm having Same problem with mine. She getting married next may and now dozens want her dad there because of the way he has behaved. But he blames her, so sad as he just hasn't othered the last ten years. Just wish you could mak ether see what they missing out on. I have come to the conclusion MIT that these people blame everyone else and never accept responsibility for their own mess.
I had similar convo with hubby this week when he blamed the economy bla bla for the mess were in rofl as I said to him if we hadn't gotten ourselves into this horrendous debt in the first place we would have been able to deal with the downturn in wages While the recession is on. I really did give him a rollicking so think he has realised now it's no ones fault but our own!
