    Hi flyingflea,

Did you happen to get your 1 Airmile per £1 offer?

I too applied for this and my Airmiles received do not correspond with the pounds I've spent.

Have you had any success? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
Yes sort of. I have only received the standard 1 airmile per £50 on the mastercard and have only received 1 airmile per whole £1. e.g. 10 £1.99 transactions has only earned me 10 airmiles. BTW, I found out the hard way!!

    Thanks for replying.

How did you manage to get the £1 per Airmile? Mine is still 1 Airmile per £10 when using the Amex Card - not good!
  • Credit cards have a lot of interesting offers. It is like a consolation price for those to spend a lot of things using what we could call 'magic cards'. Though we always have money at hand, we do tend to use credit cards so we could use our money somewhere else. And in return, you will get a lot of freebies from it including discounts on shops, free meals on any restos and a lot more.

Towards the end of the article under "Cancel old unused cards" it says

.......having high available credit can diminish your credit score, not just the amount of outstanding debt.......

    Surely this cannot be true?

Sorry for the delayed response. I hadn't subscribed to this thread. It's nearly the end of the 3 month period and although I managed to spend well over £1500 I'm only receiving about 1000 airmiles because of the way they calculate it

I guess the promotion applied to my account when I applied and didn't for you?

They still do the Halifax Clarity card but haven't seen them advertise the Rewards version for a while
  • Hello,

I'm very sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering what sort of spending counts as spending to trigger a freebee, especially on the card offer the flights? (bmi). Whilst I guess that withdrawing money from a cash machine wouldn't work, how about getting cash back at a supermarket, or transferring money to another bank account or to paypal? I assume see loopholes have bee nclosed, but it can't hurt to ask ...

Thanks very much for any advice!

I will shortly be making a complaint to Lloyds TSB about the Duo Airmiles amex credit card promo (they advertised the deal as 1500 airmiles for £1500 spending). I have now had all the points awarded to my airmiles account and even though I spent nearly £2000, they've only awarded me 1494 airmiles because of the way they calculate it (e.g. 1 airmile per whole £1 spend, £0.99 = no points and the Mastercard is 1 airmile per £50 spent)

If this was made clear to me when I signed up or if they had even advertised this in their T+C's I wouldn't have a problem.
  • Great ideas, love freebies. Thanks
