Also Hacks are fine and that one above does work, but I found dvd players die within about 6 months of doing the hack. Better off getting the compack, which by the way came within 2 days I think. Free postage as well.
The Tesco value DVD player will play the freebies you get from the Telegraph. Had to return the Compacks one bought for my Dad at Christmas when he tried a Telegraph DVD on it and didn't want to chance more of the same. Luckily Tesco's rebadged Technika is fine.0 -

You guys have me all confused now re DVD players with HDMI outputs etc!
I just got the 37" HD lcd from woolworths for my sister and she was disappointed with the picture quality from a basic £20 DVD player from Asda (it wasn't a very sharp image)
I explained poor quality in means poor quality out and until she gets HD input it will not look as good as a CRT. She understood but i think she was still disappointed - Anyway I was thinking of getting this for her
Toshiba SD370E HDMI

"HDMI- up conversion" does that mean it will give a sharper image from a normal DVD? Is there another player you might recommend instead?Treat everyday as your last one on earth, and one day you will be right!0
