I have the same one as shown in the link above and it has never failed me, plays every single disc I throw at it

Divx playback is top notch and I believe it also has progressive scan, here is the manufacturer link

Also comes with a 2 year guarantee

    Best £40 I ever spent

    High recommended

[*]£17.89 single region. Argos is offering an Alba DVD62 DVD* player for £17.89. Again it isn't a multi-region player but techie MoneySavers may be able to make it into one). This is available online and you can arrange to pick it up in store to save on postage and packing.[/LIST]What is multi-region?

found a multi region hack for this
To unlock your Alba 62 DVD player follow the following steps:

Press open/close on your remote once.
Insert a non region 2 dvd into the tray.
    Press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Play.

The dvd should automatically close the tray & play the dvd, thus making your dvd player multiregional.

just reserved one at my local argos, will test it tonight and report back
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • Richer Sounds are advertising the Wharfedale DVD3210 DVD player at £9.99 in their sale, which starts at 10 a.m. on Boxing Day. But there are only 2000 available, and it is only 1 per customer.

They also have 1000 Philips Freeview players at £9.99 too, and say you can have this AND the DVD player.

You can reclain your parking costs at Richer Sounds if you ask in store.

Turn the dvd in standbye mode, Press "0009" press "ok"
on the screen you can now see the information of region and version

Turn the dvd in standbye mode,
    Display "no disc"
    code Press "0086000"
    Press "ok" button

Now the DVD is regionfree ( region 0)

(The last digit in the code is the region
for example 0086002 is region 2)

    Hi Cortone

I can only see both these items advertised at £19.99 each on the Richer Sounds website. Is there some trick or secret code to enter on their website to halve the price? Perhaps they have just decided to up the price since you posted?

    Thank you.
