Well over the last week my balance board says Ive gained a total of 4lbs! Not a happy bunny considering Ive been working out everyday for around an hour or more, and Im eating better food than before:mad: I suppose on the plus side though my stomach seems to have shrunk very slightly and my bottom is no longer like jelly - so yay there....Just don't get the whole weight thing though.....

Now Im up to 14lbs to shift rather than 10 :(

    Hi charlie,

sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down. I find my Wii balance board very temperamental with my weight. I would advise getting a seperate pair of scales to weigh yourself with and try to weigh in at the same time every week. My weightloss has been very slow, I wish I could lose 3/4lb in a week but I think I am going to be a slow loser. Are you sure you are eating enough? Sounds weird but if you look a few pages back it was suggested to me that maybe I have pushed my body into starvation mode!

Well done to maldives lover and little kel :j

Weigh in for me on Wednesday morning and I am hoping for at least another lb off although ideally it would be 2. Looking like I might miss my 7lb Jan target though :(

    Hey y'all :)

Congrats to all who have lost weight! I've been up, down, and up a bit, but as people say, the balance board can be a wee bit tempramental.

I've manged to do at least half an hour on the Wii Fit every night so far. I'll give my thigh a test tonight and see if it's fully recovered, and if so it'll I might give the EA Active Sports More Workouts it's first try...

    Hi Charlie792

Don't beat yourself up too much, as jtr2803 says you may be putting your body into starvation mode if you're not eating enough. Try http://www.myfitnesspal.com
you can create a food diary so you will see how much (or little) you are eating, you might be suprised. If you are eating enough then the other cause for your weight gain could be that you are building muscle because of exercise, the good news is that muscle apparently burns more calories than fat so you should start to see a difference soon. I've also read somewhere that muscle actually takes up less room than the equivalent amount of fat which might be why you're seeing a flatter tummy and a less flabby bum.

    Thanks for the support :T

Ive always had difficulty in losing weight ever since I was younger - went up to 13st in first year of uni but after I moved out of halls I managed to get down to 11st just by not eating as much (in halls I was constantly snacking ). Was surprised to see Im now down to around 10.5st but this is where I appear to be stuck....Ideally want to get to around 9.5 for a proper healthy weight.

I'd say I was eating enough probably - I don't eat breakfast, food in the morning makes me feel ill. I eat lunch everyday, weekdays it's homemade sandwiches and then dinner in the evening. No snacking throughout the day. Pretty much all I drink is water.
My dietary habits haven't really changed since I started working out, except Ive cut down on the takeways - although I am feeling hungrier now but Im certainly not eating any more....

Will definitely look into getting another pair of scales too....

Hi everyone, I'm wanting to take part in the whole wii fitness thing. Can you guys recommend which of the following games I should try first?
    1) The Biggest Loser Challenge
    2) Your Shape
    3) My fitness coach
    4) EA Sports Active: More Workouts

Also, I haven't got the balance board yet but I will be getting it in the near future, do these games need the board?
    Cheers x

    Evening All,

I think I have got to that very odd stage where I am starting to enjoy exercise, that's a first!! :rotfl:

I did my 30 day challenge EA Sports Active workout then made my own 12 minute workout with dance and boxing, all I can say is OUCH, MY ARMS!!!

I really like the EA sports active, if you can't do squats etc then you can remove them from the workout simply by unticking them on the exercise list before you start. I really like the mix of high and low impact workouts and certainly am not bored yet. It's got 5 stars from me :D

    Hi Twinkle06

I've only used Your Shape and tbh I've only used it twice, I just don't have the coordination for it, arms and legs never go where they're supposed to:mad:. I've used Wii Fit, EA Sports Active and More Workouts. My current favourite is More Workouts, I don't need to be very coordinated to do the workouts and they are quite tough. You can use More Workouts with or without the balance board.

Good luck with whichever one you choose.
  • Thanks guys. I'll go with the More Workouts for the moment and progress from there! Will keep you posted and I'm enjoying reading this thread, lets keep each other motivated!

I broke out EA More Workouts tonight, really enjoyed the cardio routine. It does seem better than the original, but I guess I'll have to give it time to properly compare.

Good news is my thigh seems OK now :D

Oh, and EA More Workouts seems to have (at least) three dedicated step routines of varying lengths - may try one of these soon, see if it uses the balance board.
