Losing weight - Gym V Wii

Managed 40 minutes of Wii Fit Plus today. Nothing too strenuous, but burnt off 197 calories. I do mainly the balance and aerobic exercises (especially the step ones).
Does anyone know of a dedicated step sequence disc for the Wii, really enjoy this but would like more variety.0 -
Well I did half an hour wii just now, can't be bothered doing anymore as I have had a rubbish day at work and came in and ate 4 mini creme eggs  however gym the next 3 days, and I did have salad for my tea..."Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."0

I don't have Active 2, I only have Active 1. Active 2 is supposed to be better however Active 1 is available pretty cheaply now and still gives a great workout.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

The Active Additional Workouts is much better than Active 1, more variation and some ab exercises as well. I think you can probably get it for less than £100

Think you need to have the original EA Active to use the more workouts although I may be wrong!
Well, after my disappointing loss yesterday I had a bit of an off day, I was pretty ok with the food side but didn't do any workouts. Have been good today apart from a couple of Jaffa cakes and came home and did two EA active workouts and super advanced WF+ boxing so burnt somewhere around 280-300 calories.
I really hope it doesn't keep raining as it would be nice to go for a walk this weekend!

Hi everyone, would love to say I've been doing the Wii Fit but I haven't
I've been so busy that I've barely had time to blink but I have a plan...
The last time I used the Wii Fit succsessfully was when I stopped smoking, got to my ideal weight was toned up and felt great. Stupidly I now smoke and don't exercise... onto the plan...
My free stop smoking patches will be here soon and then I start to stop smoking/start exercising again. Ease myself into it with some yoga, hula hoop, boxing and balance games for a couple of weeks then start the Sports active. I looked at the ports active and I'm fairly confident I would do myself damage if I started that first
I've been following this thread and I'm totally inspired by everyone, well done and a big :j for you all.Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

I'm fairly sure it is a standalone programme but it doesn't come supplied with the leg strap and resistance band these need to be purchased separately (accessory pack).0 -
Still finding my way round wii fit plus. Liking most of what I do though. Cant get the hang of boxing yet though:o
I am aching today though. Did quite a bit of yoga aswell yesterday.
Managed to catch up with ep1 of Biggest Loser. I'm hooked already:)
Was concerned that they tend to throw them in at the deep end, can that be good for the heart?
Looks to be a mild weekend coming up so its a nice walk in the Peak District. Lantern Pike me thinks:)
Have a good weekend everyone.xLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Morning All,
Thank you ML!
I went to zumba class last night, it was fun-the bit of it we did..we managed to a)get the time wrong (thought it was 8-9pm, it was 7-8pm!) but luckily realised at about 7:10 then managed not to be able to find the school the class was at so didn't get into the class until 7:45! Looks like it will be a good work out though-lots of wiggling hips, so hopefully that will tone the tummy!
I have my gym kit with me today and will be off there at lunch time and am going to order the biggest loser wii game-I think I'll get bored of wii fit if it's the only thing I dothe thing on the wii that I like the most is the free step-where you can watch normal tv whilst stepping. 20 mins seems to go alot faster when I'm watching a cooking programme at the same time! It doesn't feel like real excersize beause you don't have to concentrate!!
x
PS-Northwest-the boxing is great when you get the hang of it, the last 30 seconds or so, when you get to punch the bejaysus out of the punch bag really works up a sweat!0 -

I was like this too when I first started and actually gave it up after a few tries. When I tried it again a few weeks later I just seemed to get the hang of it. Try not to think too much about doing it wrong but use it more as a practice to gradually get the hang of it. Once I sussed it out (co-ordination was my biggest problem) I enjoyed it loads, now it's probably my fave exercise of all!!

I haven't tried the free step yet, might give that one a go. Do you ust make it up as you go along while your watching tv?Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0
