Losing weight - Gym V Wii

I have been playing with Wii Fit round my friends house, in sessions gigglingly referred to as 'communal Wii-ing in the living room
. However, last year I bought EA Sports Active; last night it came out it's box for the first time (another
). I did the first workout on the list, which was deceptively marked 'easy' - well, actually, most of it was OK, except for the 'running on the spot whilst trying to kick your bum for a couple of minutes' bit, which nearly killed me! :rotfl:
Wait until you get to the Inline Skating!
I've done the Three Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all within 24 hours) and the Inline Skating on EA Active was the best training I managed to find. If you're doing it properly it hurts like living hell :rotfl:Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

I haven't yet worked out how to just do a specific activity, but Inline Skating may have to go on the 'avoid' list until I'm a bit fitter! :rotfl:Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0 -
This thread is open to anyone using the Wii for fitness/weightloss....can't believe how many of us there are now :j
I forgot to add that I tried the 'My fitness coach - dance workout' and found it incredibly hard to follow, there are very quick examples then you have to just do it, it also wasn't picking up a lot of the moves as I was only using one remote and it recommends two. Have decided to contine with my EA 30 day challenge before attempting it again although I am considering buying the biggest loser challenge!
Weigh in for me tomorrow!

You did the Three Peaks? You, sir, are an Offical Nutter - and you have my utmost respect! :T

Yep - the most rewarding thing I've ever done (aside from proposing to my fiancee) but one of the most mentally challenging experiences of my life. I will never forget my training climb of Scafell Pike, a four hour climb in overcast but dry weather followed being at the summit when the heavens opened and lightning cracked all around us - I had a chilled track from Classic Euphoria on my iPod and looked out from the summit to see our mighty country proud, with electric cracking down nearly ten miles away. The only way to describe it is the Earth saying "you've done it" and sharing an absolute connection with our beautiful planet. Although it was busy, there was only me and the world. It's so hard to explain in words but othing can ever take that feeling away from me, I still feel it now.
If it helps, I lost 9lbs in one day doing 3PeaksWhatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Hi!
I just came across this thread - I bought a Wii and Wii fit plus about two months ago an in all honesty I was shocked by the results.
Yesterday I was 10.5 stone (which puts me 3/4 of the way into Ideal) but when I started on the Wii I was 11 stone - so Ive lost half a stone in 2 months and considering I didnt use it at all throughout the whole of December (lazy I know but I had a tonne of work on) Im honestly impressed as Im one of these people that doesn't shift weight easily.....MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11
Aug 2014 £114,750 -35 yrs (2049)

Did 27 of 30 mins today - just couldn't quite run to another activity as it would have made me late for work.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Can I join please. My kids got a wii and wii fit balance board for christmas. They made me a little person and it said I had the body of a 60 year old! I'm only 44! Now they are out at school I would like to have a wee try during the day but I didn't know where to start. From reading this thread, the advice seems to be just do a bit of whatever you fancy! So tomorrow, once I have worked out how to turn the thing on, I will have a try and see what I enjoy.0
