Had to leave him for a couple of hours today :( we had a game of tug before I went and were working on "give" and swapping it for a treat.

Came in to a vertically bouncing tigger, a big woof and when I turned around after hanging me keys up, him sat in front of me, tug toy in his mouth requesting a rematch! Bless him!

  • Glad he was ok, I left mine to nip out to the shop and she was fine too.

I was chatting to a lady dog walker in the park today and she said that she heard a story in a newspaper a while ago about a woman who left her dog tied up outside the library and it turned out that a busybody had taken the dog thinking it had been abandoned and took it to the vets to be put to sleep! Needless to say I wont be leaving my little doggie tied up anywhere!

  • doggy update... I got up to go to work today and sorted out the pooch, went upstairs to brush my teeth and when I came down I noticed that the jug of milk on the kitchen table was empty, looked around for spillage and none!

She must have jumped up and drank it out of the jug! I just ignored it but I had to chuckle! I now know she likes milk so shes had a saucer tonight when I got home and thoroughly loved it!

Don't they make you laff! Maybe now she's coming out of her shell she'll start showing her character, she's been as good as gold so far and being a terrier I expect some larks!

We got told by our vet that goats milk is the way forward for dogs, so needless to say Stella had a 1 ltr carton in the fridge as we speak, and she loves it.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

We're getting a bit more mischief now - just door scratching on a nighttime - but he's gone through two layers of gloss paint (good job the door's getting changed eventually anyway) so trying to work ways round him getting cheesed off at getting left overnight (can't have him in the bedroom because of the cat/his toxic farts/the fact I'm not adding a snoring dog to the snoring cat and snoring husband equation or I'll never sleep). Tried him with a kong last night to settle with as we went upstairs - that distracted him a bit but we've still lost a bit more paint overnight (much less though) - hoping it's just attention seeking (it's not toilet needing) and that as it goes unrewarded with us not cracking and coming back downstairs it'll die out.

He's currently zonked on the lounge floor next to me on the lead and the cat's doing an inch forward - stop for wash - inch forward thing.

Interesting, as I was told and have read never to give MILK to dogs, is a shame because my dogs love it but stopped when I read that information as I don't want to upset the dogs tummies.

Just found out that dogs don't have the enzymes to break down the lactose and sugar in milk and can cause severe stomach problems!

No, no more dogs for them, although mum would love another, they are in their 60's now and live in a perfect area for a dog and are keen walkers, but vets/bills are very very expensive and they only get one pension atm, so no dog for them.

Mind you they have lots of lizzards in their garden that mum has taken to, so she looks after her lizzards.
They would qualify for free pet care from the PDSA!
