Some dogs do pong naturally. Our border can smell just as bad a few hours after a bath as he did before it :) Its a breed thing I think. But oh, he makes up for it in love and is also so very funny, every day he makes us larf - certainly outweighs the pong downside :)
  • oh he sounds lovely! And what about you softies sleeping on the settee bless!

As for the ponging, maybe it will subside when he changes dog food, I had to give mine a wash when she moved in as she stunk too but is lovely now, I love her!

Sooooo happy for you and for him too, he sounds lovely :):):):)

Nah the pong isn't poo related - just Eau De Mutt generally!

He can fart for England - if farting was an Olympic sport he'd be getting the gold medal for style, frequency and quality of the "oh god you've dropped another one"s.

I got a tail wag and a hello this morning - usually only reserved for my husband!

  • I notice you are up early db! ;)

heres hoping the smells calm down after a while and when he gets into a new routine...

I'm off to get the doggie checked over at the vets today and to get her some program tablets as I used them for my last one and she never got fleas. I'll get her weighed too. I've been giving her vitamins while she's been here just to build her up a bit (I get the ones from wilkos at 99p and they seem to have everything in them..they are expensive everywhere else)

Lovely to have a waggy welcome in the mornings isnt it?! :)

Just about to head out for a walk after the 6am get up for a widdle stop - figure we'll get out this morning before the snow gets too bad - unfortunately hubby's got the car at work so I can't take him to the park so it's just going to be a plod around the streets this morning. He's been fantastic overnight again - we made a point of popping in to reassure him we were just upstairs but he's just zonked in his basket all night.

Poor Layton - just booked him in for the chop at the vets next week!

Just come across this thread, DH and DB I am so glad you have such lovely pets with character.

Just had my parents stay with me for a week (they live in France) and Perry the pup melted their hearts.
Dad even warmed to him, i saw the crafty smiles and pats he gave him, mum and perry were glued to each other, and both are now depressed as (dog and mum) parents have gone back home now,

My parents were amazed at his behaviour, considering it has been years since i lived at home with them at their dogs, how well behaved he was, and i am sure Perry played the gentleman to the best of his ability, even the sly silent farts were tollerated.

Sounds like your pup are happy and content in their new forever homes :)

Re: cat and dog.. cat will calm down although he isnt happy now as you are ignoring his demands that the dog should be removed, had the same with OH and his cat who hissed and growled at one end of the room for days, and now they play fight and miss each other when apart. Cat often meows 'perry' looking for him, seriously lots of people have heard the cat do this and look at you to say... did i just really hear that.

  • hi mupettte, maybe they'll get a dog...

hi dizziblonde, I have to get mine 'seen to' as well this week... she has teats which makes me wonder if she has had a litter of pups in the past, the last dog I had went to be spayed and when they opened her up realised she's already been 'done' so I'm hoping this doeant happen again. Babbington sell a voucher for 1/2 price neutering so will look into this

No, no more dogs for them, although mum would love another, they are in their 60's now and live in a perfect area for a dog and are keen walkers, but vets/bills are very very expensive and they only get one pension atm, so no dog for them.

Mind you they have lots of lizzards in their garden that mum has taken to, so she looks after her lizzards.
