    When're you moving skylight?

In about 6 weeks hopefully; or sooner if the builders finish the place more quickly! Erm its a housing association move so I will only get a weeks notice therefore I need to be ready to go. I am soooo excited I think I have mentioned the move in almost every post/FB comment/chat to friends etc!

I tend not to mention its a HA move espcially on other places on MSE because it automatically gets some peoples backs up IYKWIM? I live in social housing, have 5 kids and am not employed ATM. It conjours up Daily Mail headlines.... However, when people realise that actually I pronouce all my letters and have qualifications coming out of my ears some do change attitude. I don't need to explain but I will - bascially as with all things in life everything was hunky dorey until a major event in 2004 meant OH(ex) became so depressed he was suicidal. He refused to get help and therefore things became so awful I couldn't take it anymore (emotionally, financially etc) and Aug last year I finally ended things. He is still unwell and wont see the kids (they are all his) etc, etc. So I now have the kids, no support (His family are not allowed to help ) trying to study and keep on top of things. I am certainly not living the dream!

But this new house is a new start - for all of us. New schools and hopefully when the 4/5th starts school a new job (because then it is childcare for only one).

I know I don't need to explain and I have only been on this thread for a week (!) but it is certainly one of the nicest ones. Sometimes its easier to explain things, such as why I have a weeks notice to move, rather than fib about it. And its a little background to me too!
  • Morning everyone.

I'm starting to get the blues at the thought of going back to work on Tuesday. Which is weird cos I love my job. I think it's because I've had proper chill-out time to get stuff done and I know it's all about to get mental again and the undone job list will pile up without hope of getting done. Oh well.

Didn't manage to rake any leaves yesterday because I went for a walk, so that's today's job. Haqve taken the cards down and made gift tags from those that I could. Might take the fake tree down today but the real one looks so nice still that I don't want to waste it. It hasn't dropped a single needle yet.
  • Skylight; just read your thread. You've got no need to apologise for your situation. I've got friends in HA because it's the only way they could afford to leave home, apart from anything else. And most of them don't even have children. I hope the move goes well and I hope things improve for you soon.

Hubby now away for the day and thankfully i didn't have to leave him up, MIL offered to do it. Mind you 4.40 and she was knocking on the window, hubby's alarm didn't go off. He phoned at 9.30 and has made it alright. :D

So just me and the kids today, not sure what the plan is yet. Probably not alot.

Soappie what awful sad news, big hugs.
Pigpen hope your feeling better soon.
skylight it could be growing pains, my DS1 gets them alot. Only thing that seems to help straight away is rubbing his leg, then some painkillers. He tends to have it for a couple of weeks then it goes away for awhile.
Toots hope your on the mend.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Morning ladies

Lilme thanks for the link - I think I need to get DH to look at it unless or I'll get shot. Was hoping it would rectify itself this morning but it hasnt, and the weird thing on this account is that it has lost all my favourites I had added to the toolbar! Have no idea what is going on.

Hugs to all those with grots and snots.

My teenie is one for using all the clean bath towels and always 2 at a time, he's a pain as he always uses 2 bath sheets instead of 1 and a small towel for his hair. Shouldnt complain though as he does keep his room clean when he's here. DD is just getting into the shower/bathing thing which is good as she is only 11 but plenty of Lush and Soap & Glory encourage her to use them.

amancalledmartin - I feel like that about work on |Tues too. We have chilled out so much since 22nd (although DH was back at work last Monday) I am beginning to wonder how I am going to get up as the last to mornings I have struggled to be up by 9 :o.

skylight - thanks for sharing your background. Be proud about everything you achieve whatever your circumstances, because there will be people who will judge but its noone elses business but yours.

I can sympathise with all those talking about diets. People think I am lucky that I am tall and slim but I'm not, many dont know how I have a daily struggle with a diet that I have to stick to for life for my coeliac disease. Without the support from my dietician and consultant I regularly go off the rails and still cant manage it 100% so it does affect my health in the longer term. Maybe I should have a look at the diet thread on FB too?

poohbear - apologies I dont think I have sent water vibes or hugs for you while you have had troubles so please accept some now x

Well the sun looks like it is trying to find its way through the cloud so fingers crossed that it does.

I need to shower and then crack on with the remainder of yesterdays list, hopefully I will finish it before I go back to work on Tues.

    Exciting new start then!

How old's your youngest? I'm sure he'll soon settle.

I've just made a birthday cake with DD - it's in the oven now and then we just need to decorate it - it's green!

Suppose I ought to get dressed soon as we're picking DD's friends up at 11.30 ready to go out for lunch.

    Morning all,

I can see a little bit of blue sky here! Not a lot but enough :j

Still not dressed, but will do that in a minute. I'm having a pottering day. Jobs but not gona go bananas. DH is out in his lycra, but we will take the tree down when he gets home.

Skylight - thanks for sharing with us. One thing I have found on here is that no one is ever judged. Not ever.

Will check in later folks - enjoy your morning whatever you are doing.
    Hugs

Just been having a nosy on the fb thread, so i've decided to completely clear out my wardrobe today. Anything to small is out and then i'll know what i actual have left. I'm looking forward to it. Today is about me getting myself organised, so i'll sort my handbag out and have a nosy through my shoes. :D

First tho i'll get the fire lit as it's cold here today.

    Morning all

I've done some washing and hung it outside! Not expecting it to dry but it's out of the way for a few hours and it will make it smell nice.

I've polished in the living room and the computer desk, S&Sd the kitchen and bathroom and vacuumed right through downstairs.

DH is out walking with his friend (whose wife died suddenly on Boxing Day:(), DD1 is due home today so DH will be back here this afternoon :) Good.

Still catching up, hope everyone's OK.
