Lil_me i've thought about pulling the lead out of the PS3 just so i can watch abit of telly, hubby is the same with the shouting (who do they be shouting at). I don't mind music at night but when it's slipknot and his flipping earphones fall out it would put ya mad.

Rigth i'm gonna try and get some sleep.

    OK here is the plan...

can you change the fuse in a plug????

if so great, put a duff fuse in the plug for the said device or just take it out if its that type, that OH / DP is using... oohh is it broken...

Depends on how "quick" said OH/DP is,or even if he the type to check fuses, but it might give you a bit of peace for five minutes.

    Ironing basket empty.

First curtain has survived the wash, looks like it has faded but that is ok, not sure if it has shrunk or not, will only know once ironed and hung.

JoJo - can you help me with a trumpet problem please. DS3 has a new trumpet (3 months) and one of the valves has started sticking; however much we oil it it rises too slowly and slurs the note. Can you give me any advice. I've taken it out and wiped it (quite black in places) and replaced and reoiled.

Off to get DS3 bathed and to bed and then tv and knitting for me.

My tree will be staying up until the 6th

Poohbear - that sounds awful. I can't imagine coping for more than a few days although I suspect the boys would love it. Am I right in thinking you live close to the Hadrian Wall walk? I may need to pick your brain!

I have done some washing. I don't do superstition at all :p.

I am occupying myself by tidying out the pantry. I need real cupboards, and worktops, and a shined sink instead of a rusty one. I hope 2011 proves to be the year we get the kitchen done :roll eyes:

Is it time to do a new exercise/weight loss thread on the facebook page? Greenbee, Poohbear and I still post on there and are still encouraging each other but I appreciate that it may be easier for others to join a new mutual support thread.

DH has given up smoking, drinking and any sense of humour today :rotfl:.

Tea's all done, and the krew helped clean the kitchen up afterwards. Just need to move all the boxes upstairs and find a box for the stray set of lights that I took off the tree. Must have had a home before xmas so why not now - confused smiley.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Could be a number of reasons - firstly, it may need a darn good clean out, complete dry and reoil. Easily sorted. (You can oil too much and that causes sticking as well as oiling too little). I used to use baby shampoo for the major clean, where you disassemble everything - making sure you note which valve is which  not that I ever forgot that one

The fact that it is new makes this quite possible, as the manufacturing process leaves you with loads of teeny bits of metal inside which take time to come out. They would also discolour the oil.

On the other hand, check the valve casings - it's very easy to dink it by catching it on a stand or commonly, by leaving it standing on the bell and someone else has knocked it over. If there's a dent, however small, it is possible it's sticking because of that pinching slightly.

Check how perpendicular the valve keys are. Again, it could have been dropped or DS may pull/push them rather than pressing straight down, something which may have not been the case with his previous instrument. Line them up visually from the mouthpiece and if you can see any of the keys sticking out of line, there's a good possibility this has happened.

A visit to the local music shop would be worth it/asking his teacher about their suggestions as well, as it's a big step to start thinking about dabbing a bit of Brasso on the bottom of the valve and working it up and down to rub off any roughness, then thoroughly washing/oiling it again. Especially as it could be under warranty if it's brand new, so any manufacturing faults need to be eliminated first.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Good idea. I [STRIKE]want[/STRIKE] need to lose weight.
I want to stop smoking too, but need to lose the weight first? Thankfully I don't drink.

I have just transferred all events from last years calendar to this. I actually made a note of when i bought my dahlia tubers last year - sadly though i didn't note when I planted them!

We had a small conservatory built last year. What can i grow in it that won't overtake it? Any ideas?
