I'm not washing, drying only until midnight, after the NYE being utter chaos and my Dad being unwell I'm to superstitious to risk it. To be fair it'll give me time to catch up with the drying before I start the what must be a dozen loads I need to do.

S&S bathroom done, S&S kitchen done, TD on, cleaned up an apple juice spill with my sock unintentionally *yuk kids!*, DS1 cleared the dining table so he can build Lego so I put things away from there, DP on way to declutter friends car back that he had to drive home, binned some junk, got some bread out of freezer, pondered what to do for tea as still can't decide, decluttered some brownie cake and a coffee to surpress hunger, spoken to my Dad to wish him happy new year....think that's about the most I have done so far. I do need to empty DW that was done last night.

Not been out since Thursday which was a hungover pop to a friends, think cabin fever is setting in as I'm not used to being in the house all the time.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Jeez - it has taken me from my last post until now to box up 1 tree!

How does everyone else do theirs? Mine [STRIKE]is one[/STRIKE] are ones that you have to slot all the pieces together and 'build'. So when I pack them away I keep all the coloured sections separate then individually wrap each section in a black bag secured with tape and labelled so thats its easier to rebuild next year.

Does everyone else just bung it in a box as my hands are ripped to shreds and I havent even started on the baubles which have to packed into the boxes they came in, then the boxes packed into other boxes with everything colour coded so I know what colour each box is for whatever room I happen to be doing (yes tree colours have to match room colours :o)

Anyway, away to do more boxing but am gasping again so better grab some juice :D

We always have a real tree but I can remember as a child Mum and Dad packing away ours like you describe. They were of the generation where you took really good care of everything because you couldn't afford to replace it :j

Hoovered through and mopped kitchen floor
    Played Quirkle with DS2&3
    Sorted out DS3's clothes
Did one load of washing and am about to wash one of our bedroom curtains for the first time ever (that'll be about 9 1/2 years :o) praying they will be ok.

Got a bit of labelling and a bit of ironing to do so will do that once I've got dinner on the go and checked the online bank accounts.

A plea to you all re next week's thread

It will be mad busy with new people joining, it always is. As we know though few will stay; so please can we not have any of the usual requests for no chit chat. We do chat on this thread, it's part of the support but we fly aswell. It only upsets people and as we don't have stars at the moment it shouldn't matter if the thread is huge.

I'll only be posting one list and amending it as the week goes by, I find this works for me. I'll also try to post christmas trees for newbies and if we all do this and say hi to them then hopefully they will feel welcome and not too overwhelmed.

I've finally caught up with the thread and some of your lovely posts from last night made me cry. This really is a very, very special place and I consider myself privileged to be part of it. So thank you to each and every one of you.

I've just spent time in the bath, writing a diary entry for New Year's Day 2012, describing the year I would like to have had (if that makes sense). I've still got to go back and add more, but I hope that it will be my guide for the coming year. After over a year on here it's time I started making progress.

I will be in a bit, and the TD/DW will be on, too. On that note I'll be off and make a start. x

I know how you feel. If the sun shone I might actually manage to get something done...

Exactly! But the grey day turned out fitting in the end. I have spent it wallowing really. Had a phone call this am to say someone I know passed away after an accident yesterday morning. Not a great friend, but someone I've worked with in the community in the past.

He was a real local character and the news has left me quite down for some obscure reason.

But, off to slap a smile on my face and do dinner with DS's in-laws

"Flylady couldn't run so effectively if it wasn't for the huge commitment by pigpen and toots, soappie, and asbotoots, so a great big round of applause and thank you for everything you do!" - As sexymouse said I couldn't agree more so a massive thank you ladies xx
sexymouse - we did he same last night :) We had my mum and dad in law over - I cooked food for us all then we watched the world's strongest man, followed by Buzz and the Wii - absolutely hilarious, there is something about mums/grandmothers on the Wii,lol! I love her to bits but oh my goodness she did have me in absolute stitches :D But we had a fantastic night :)

Finally all the decs are boxed away - boy did I underestimate the time on that task. All I need to do is get them upsatirsd into the attic but the big tree will have to wait until tomorrow when Dh can do it as I cant even lift the box

I had my first tree for 20 years before I had to bin it, well worth the £30 I had paid for it which was a fortune at the time.

Hugs its always tragic when someone loses a relative, friend or colleague but always seems worse at this time of the year. Hugs for you soappie and his family.

Away to get some tea on now wont take long as only JP salad and Sea Bass
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
