I too am looking out for the mag - don't you lot all buy one before I have chance lol!! I haven't finished my june challenge because the tatty bits of bear need loads of concentration and I needed a rest so started on my mum's christmas pressie - another bookmark of lillies and a dragonfly as requested, and I am doing it on plastic as she wanted it stiffer than aida and after close inspection I realised the chart is all whole stitches yippee (I hope ha ha). So bear is so nearly finished but not quite. I'm excited to finish him so I will have to find some time to sit down and get him done.

Way too engrossed in the tennis today to stitch but I have also discovered the merits of Five Live - its commentary is brilliant and I now prefer this to actually watching the matches. Come on Murray !!!!

    Evening folks

I've come on for a bit of a rant as I have no-one else to rant at at the moment.

Origin Publishing currently have an offer on for the summer - 40% off the subscriptions for its cross stitch, knitting and card making mags. The advert in WOXS and XS Gold and presumably XS Crazy as well says that you can get 9 issues of XS Gold for £24.30.

Well, not according to their website you can't - you'll have to pay £26.95!

I have now rung up 4 times over the past fortnight and spoken to four different minions - none of whom have been able to help me when I rang and three of whom have not rung me back as promised - I'm giving the fourth one a couple of days grace as I only spoke to her tonight.

I know that it's only £2.65, but its the principle of the thing, especially in the current economic climate. They are advertising in 7 different magazines that a subscription for XS Gold costs X and yet they really expect you to pay Y for it!

If I don't get a proper response by Tuesday evening, then I'm going to make an official complaint.

Well, with that off my chest, I will now say how great everyone's work is looking and send big Zen hugs to all with poorly family and/or suffering difficult times.

Wow - that looks fun :T

I haven't been stitching as haven't felt like concentrating on the backstitch. So I didn't achieve my June challenge which was to finish the chickens. I will be DDless tomorrow evening so hopefully my migraine has disapeared and I can have a good stitching sesson with my new cat (I hope she doesn't get too excited about the threads...)

Sorry haven't made it on here recently - any important news I need to know? Have been busy tidying up loose ends at work (end of term madness has set in big style) and not managed to get stitching out much tbh.

Am still slogging on with Welsh Chapel kit but want to get another lovequilts started over summer. Am going to sit down with pencil and paper and plan summer hols house/school/life attack tonight with a big glass of something nice!

Thanks muchly, but the lovely Shelly has offered me some already :D I only need about a skein, probably less, then I'm straight off back to DMC ;)

Ooops, it's not the lovely Shelly who's sending me some white, she's sending me the chart for the top of my wooden box. It's the equally lovely bikerchick, sorry :(

Well as promised here's my update on my MP Wedding Sampler.

This is what it looked like at last update back in March.

and here is what it was earlier when I finished the main stitching. It took me ages to do the bit at the bottom in the creamm colour as I had to unpick loads and didn't remotivate myself for about 6 weeks.

The top disappears round the bar of the frame, it is there in real life.

I have started the outlining tonight and I don't like it. It's done in 2 strands of black and I'm finding it very heavy. I might unpick it and redo it using just one strand. Will decide tomorrow.

    Hi all.
Just wanted to say thanks to mags_cat ;);) I'm about 2/3 the way to completing Tenby Harbour. Will try to post an update this weekend. Not looking forward to all that backstitch though:eek:
