I'm going to be chewing my fingers off tomorrow morning my youngest is being admitted today and having a op to repair a hole in his heart first thing in the morning. Hole is much bigger than they thought so his op may not work but the surgeon is fairly confident he can do it. They are operating via his leg as they are trying to avoid cutting his chest open if poss. If that doesn't work they'll have to so i have everything crossed.

Hope everything goes well for him and they manage to get him sorted xxxx

    Hi everyone

Not much stitching going on here as I started a new job last week (after a year of searching) so loads to learn at work. I am starting a Mary Hickmott scene for my parents for xmas http://www.stitchdirect.com/shopWebSite/php/showProducts.php?plu=077003C

Hugs to Louise and crafty granny, will be thinking of you both over the weekend x x

Chickywiggle - I would love the Margaret Sherry book if you still have it :)

Right off to start this kit, will try and post a piccy over the weekend.

Ooh thanks for the info, I took a peek and it looks good. Also handy to see how much it was for it to be framed.:)

Louise and Graftygranny - sending hugs and love to you both. It seems strange to have to click thanks when what you really want to say is "I've read your post and send my love".

My local Hobbycraft have a couple of the Margaret Shelly books. They also have another book for £9.99 which for the life of me I can't remember who it is by. I looked at it and thought I would remember but can't. It had several fairies in it and a green man - don't knowif that will ring bells with anyone.

Anyway if any one wants me to pick a copy up for them let me know and I can get one and post it on (would probably need to pass cost of postage on though - sorry). Alternatively not sure how Hobbycraft are at asking them to transfer things to other stores.

No stitching done last night as ran out of thread - hence the journey to Hobbycraft today. I know I've paid over the odds but couldn't wait.

    Hi

Not feeling too great today, worried about my Dad :( He was in hospital yesterday because he hasn't been able to eat for weeks and they have found a large tumour blocking his oesophagus. He won't get the biopsy results until Monday to say if it's cancerous so it will be a long weekend for the family.

Thing is, my Grandfather died in November from the same thing, so you can understand that we are fearing the worst. He went to the doctor in the middle of May but the doc didn't refer him as an urgent case so we are quite annoyed (understatement) that he hasn't been investigated sooner - he would probably still be waiting if my mum hadn't made him go back and chase things up.

So I will be stitching to take my mind off things today.....

sending you lots of hugs and will be keeping everything crossed for you.
OOOOh louise hope everything goes well for him. You would think given the family history that they'd have seen him a lot sooner.

Loads of (((((((hugs))))))) to Louise and craftygranny. I hope everything works out OK for you and your loved ones.

Still trying to get my Fathers' Day card finished..I know, rather late! I have had bad sinusitis again for the past two weeks, so haven't been able to sew much...now it looks like I may well have another cold-sore developing on my lower eyelid...a different place to where I usually get one though :(. All very frustrating...luckily Dad is OK will it all...at least the cross stitch says "To a Wonderful Dad", so not absolutley solely for Fathers' Day :o

Right off to get a bit more done...painful to wear glasses again so having to work in short bursts...I'll get there eventually! :D

At this rate I'll only get it done in time to give it to him when we see him in 4 weeks time! :rotfl:

Have a good evening all x

Good luck with it - all that blue on blue was driving me nuts - it does look great when it's done though :)

I know what you mean and what a lovely idea :)

It wouldn't be Joan Elliots book would it? I know she has one out at the moment, she does a lot of fairies - I haven't seen it myself yet though.

I've been up half the night with Izzy, we went out for dinner last night and I think she must have pinched some food from Emily's plate when I wasn't looking. Emily had pasta in tomato sauce and Izzy is allergic to tomato so she's covered in hives. I gave her piriton but it didn't last the whole night so she woke up because she was itchy :( The worst thing is the hives usually turn into patches of exzema so she's gonna be itchy until that clears up :(

Oooh, poor Izzy. Have you tried Lush's Dream Cream for the exzema? Been told it works wonders. Adding milk powder to bath water might help soothe the itching too.

Keiss-I've been told earl grey teabags are good for curing cold sores. Not sure why exactly, but it's a cheap thing to try & hopefully it'll work. Tea bags on your eyes is quite nice & soothing anyway...

Hope everyone else is well. I finished a small butterfly design yesterday & today I stitched a bit on my Dictionary of Cakes. Maybe my stitching mojo is returning??? Hope so!
