Oh Chickywiggle, thinking of you and tinywiggle, there's nothing worse, I would go to a walk-in centre if he doesn't settle, otherwise it's going to be a long weekend.

I love your watch, where did you get it from? I had a search and found these on Amazon pricy though:eek:

    Any news craftygranny?

Adam had his heart op at 8.45 this morning and went back to his ward at 5.15pm the nurse said he hadn't recovered properly yet but they think every thing has gone well so fingers crossed he should start feeling better soon.

Thank you. Sorry about making you spend :o! I used to work in Lush & I know loads of customers raved about Dream Cream. Hope it works for her. If not, it'll be very soothing on sunburn (I can vouch for that! You'd think I'd learn, but I always get caught out at some point) What other treats did you get for yourself?

Don't apologise I don't need much persuading to buy from Lush :rotfl: I bought a pot of Oatifix face mask for me, a comforter bubble bar for Moo, some Dirty shaving cream and a Dirty deodorant for DH :)
Your watch is gorgeous and what a lovely keepsake from your day.

Glad to hear Noah has settled Chicky, I was gonna suggest Dr Browns bottles, which are expensive although you sometimes find them in TK Maxx, but they worked wonders for Emily. I also changed milk which helped.

I'm glad the op went well Craftygranny

PAP that's good progress for 2 days work!

I actually did some stitching this evening! I waited until the girls were in bed but I think Izzy had a good idea this afternoon...

She went in of her own accord, honest :rotfl:

Craftygranny glad the op went well it does take a while for the anaesthetic to wear off especially if its been a long operation. I'm glad he's over the operation and just needs to get better. Still thinking of you and him.

Chicky I'm glad your little one has settled. I know what it's like to have a baby with coelic, it's draining. My son used to start about 4pm and wouldn't settle unitl after 1am. he then slept in bits through the night. That was until he was 11 weeks and 2 days old and my sister took him off me and gave him just over a spoonful of baby rice and he sleep through the night for the first time and never looked back. Any health visitors out there he was nearly 6 months before he had solids - honestly :rotfl:

PAP you've done really well with that design it looks great.

MoosMummy love the photo of Izzy. I'll believe you if thousands don't.

    Morning everyone,
Sorry to hear so many of you are having a rough and worrying time at the moment and hope you are all feeling better soon. Stitching is what I turn to when I'm having a rough time of things.
I had to take my Dad to a&e a fortnight ago due to breathing problems and I grabbed a bag which had my essentials- money snacks and knitting!
Dad is okish- has been told to stop smoking which he has done' just like that which I am amazed by, think he had the shock of his life and realised he wanted to see his grandchildren grow up more than he wanted the fags.

Stitching wise I have been stitching my sampler but as it's is so big I have borrowed my friends plastic clip frame and I'm not sure if I'm getting on with it- it seems so cumbersome- anyone got any tips of how to get on with them when they are so big?
Looks like the weather is going to be ideal "stick on a dvd for the kids and do my stitching" sort of day. We are off to a craft type market this morning so may buy some nice bits:D
Have a great day everyone especially those with extra worries:A

Keiss-I've been told earl grey teabags are good for curing cold sores. Not sure why exactly, but it's a cheap thing to try & hopefully it'll work. Tea bags on your eyes is quite nice & soothing anyway...
Thanks for that Ruth...might try that too...DH has Earl Grey teabags, so sorted there!! Will report back on how thinkgs go with that.

My second was perfectly happy until 4 weeks old, then became impossible to settle. I pleaded with the health visitor at the 6 weeks check (he was 7 weeks old, but that's a different story!) to let me feed him some solids - he was already 14 pounds 1 oz so feeding from me and an extra bottle every 3 hours was obviously not enough .

The health visitor said as he was my second, she trusted me not to give him too much too soon!!! He started with a whole liga rusk...was only going to give him a quarter first...honest!! By 8 weeks he was well into bananas, and sleeping soundly...bliss!!! He is now 18, 6' 2" and a strong healthy rugby player (front row). He was just a very hungry baby - and still is!!!!!
    :rotfl:

Hope everything settles down for you soon Chicky.

Nearly finished my Dad's Father's Day project, only have a few tweaks to do then. Will post piccies once I am done.

Have a great weekend, whatever the weather throws at you!

I love the watch :j what tiny stitching :D

Do you miss working at Lush ? If I was going to work in retail then working in Lush would be one of my preferred retailers although I am not sure about the smell ! (you can smell my local lush shop a mile off) and I don't think I have the personality because the staff are always so bubbly and friendly and interested in helping you.

My favourite Lush product is the Tramp Shower gel but sadly this is a retro item only now :(

    Blue eyed girl and Louise

I love visiting stitching stitching shops - there is just something about walking into one and seeing all the goodies on display, all the threads neatly on their stands, all the kits on display, the wealth of material available, all the stitchy gadgets. I must say however that the prices often put me off because I know I can get the kit/item cheaper on sewandso and I suppose this is why they are dwindling because with the likes of online retailers and ebay, they just can't compete. A shame really. I have often wondered whether I would like to have my own stitching shop but then I think, the novelty of my love of stitching might wear off. Similarly, I don't think I would like to stitch for magazines and the like because stitching to a deadline would take the enjoyment out of stitching. Does anyone on here stitch for the mags ? I remember seeing an advert for stitchers back along.

    Posting always posting
Thats coming along nicely :j You will soon have it finished :j

I am determined that I will sit down one day as if its a day at work but instead of working, I shall be stitching :j

and I agree with a previous post - enforced time off from work never seems as enjoyable as holiday. When I was snowbound one working day just before xmas last year - I should have made the most of the stitching time (yet I didn't) and instead stressed about all the things I had left to do at work before I finished before the xmas break.

Similarly, I spend a year on reduced hours but did I devote that day to stitching ?? nope. I instead stressed/resented not being at work / fretted about the lost money and wasted the time not doing very much. Now, whilst back to full time is great for the pay packet, I wonder why on earth I complained so much about being almost full time when now i would love to have a day off work mid week which I could devote to stitching / reading.

Weekend plans include not very much. I'm reading a Linwood Barclay book - No time for goodbye which I am really enjoying and I'm have my newton bear to stitch so thats the plan I think.

    Have a lovely weekend all:j

PAP. Lovely progress, I love the bright colours!

Chicky. Glad Noah is more settled and enjoying the tv :D

Craftygranny. Thanks for the update. Hope Adam is up and about soon.

Moosmummy. What a sweet pic! She looks adorable.

Thifty. Well done to your Dad! It took having a bypass for my Dad to eventually stop smoking.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
