    Morning ladies.

Crickett. The Angel is coming along great. Can't wait to see the finished wall hanging :)

Nmm. You're progress is great too. I love the birthday card :)

Judellie. I know exactly what you mean about needles. When sewing buttons on shirts I use any needle I can find but for my cross stitching I definately have a favourite.

Thifty. Well done on finishing Rocky Point!

    Morning all :D

Finished the Seafarers Globe :j It's one of those ones that I have no idea what to do with it, and tbh dunno why I stitched it, it's not one I would usually do (maybe it was cos there's mermaids on it :D)

So...into the box with the others it goes

Last week when I discovered it after 3 years as a UFO:

  • Wow Louise you stitched that fast. It looks great though, I agree that its a bit of a strange design. Well unless you have a traveller/nautical member in your family.

Nmm, cazar is coming alone nicely now. I really can't wait to see it completed :j

I have just recieved my picadilly circus chart and Al has now had a play with my H&E Alice I brought years ago. I pulled it out the other day and knew there would be no way I could stitch it as the chart is extemely small, did/does anyone else have this problem with H&E charts? So that one maybe getting completed earlier than I thought as I kept putting it off and putting it off :o

Sorry for my rambles, as you can tell I am bored as I am still not allowed to go back to work :( I am going to do a bit more to my foxes today so will post an update tonight.

    Take care all

Time off work always sounds good doesn't it PAP until it is forced on you! At least you'll have time to start on your new kits.
I have a day off on Friday, before my 2 week holiday officially starts on Monday, and I plan to do nothing but watch my recorded TV and movies and stitch. I always say that though but end up doing things like ironing and packing! I really really want to get loads of my tiger done though.

I have 2 friends who are due to have babies at the end of this year/beginning of next and I want to stitch them both a birth present. As money is quite tight I would like to do them the same, maybe buy a kit for one and redo it for the other. Therefore it needs to be unisex and maybe a design that would suit most tastes and decor. I have been looking at

    http://www.cross-stitch-corner.co.uk/barn-babies---new-2011-design-1884-p.asp

    http://www.cross-stitch-corner.co.uk/zoo-alphabet-birth-record-772-p.asp

but I am not sure if maybe they are too bright? I could also play on the safe side and maybe go for Tatty Ted or Winne the Pooh or Forever Friends. I also like the ark that someone did earlier in the year.

I'm sure I am making more of this than it needs to be :o. I am also looking after a couple of CD's for CraftyGranny and am wondering if there is likely to be anything on there????

Thanks for listening to my ramble

This sounds good - can you tell us the name of it and where you got it please?

Sorry, not been on for a few days. Am very slowly catching up so here is the answer to the app question!

The app is called X Floss and I just put cross stitch into the i-phone app store search to find it. Think it was £1.59

    Hi ladies.

I was listening/half watching an old episode of Ace of Cakes on sky and they had an order for 'a cross stitch cake'. A lady has cross stitched 53 christmas stockings over the years for her family and her husband wanted the stocking she stitched for herself replicating for her birthday (was around xmas time)
I must admit it looked really good. The girl who was decorating it got a teeny tiny piping bag and iced all the X's to re-create the design.

Just googled and found this so you can see what I mean http://www.charmcitycakes.com/blog/2009/12/cross-stitching-american-history-and-elvis-what

... You lot are well chatty again - I'm only up to p195! Do you not realise I have a card to finish and post today!

Shelly - I saw that one! One day when I'm good enough I'm going to do a cross stitch cake too. That woman (well, the baker and the cross stitch lady) are amazing!!!

    OK, back to p195....
