Just popped in while sending an email for hubby

do i need to wash the grid lines out before i do the backstitch? its the first time i have drawn on grid lines and im unsure

No you don't, just leave all the washing until you are completely finished

As for the pale blue aida - I would check ebay for any bargains, failing that I usually revert to Sewandso for larger fabric pieces.

    Hi all.
Is it just me or does anyone else hate having to use a new needle!
I've just lost my old trusted one - down the back of the sofa I think.:( It was warped and past it's use by date, but I LOVED THAT NEEDLE:cry:

I shall have to break in another one now.
Sorry, had to share my grief.

So, this is where I was last night.

And after a whole day stitching, this is how far I have got! :D

Feel very chuffed. Oh, and the sewandsew stuff has just arrived too. Finally! But to be fair, they have refunded my delivery and apologised, so I can't complain. :D

Well Flat Eric, the patterns come from an old desk calendar I had a few years ago. Each day of the working week there was a new cross stitch pattern. I weeded out the ones I didn't really like, and kept the ones I did, including this series of Angels. The project is to stitch all of these patterns and then I am going to appliqu! them onto a backing cloth and I think they are going to be a wall hanging. I was going to give them to my god-daughter... but I think I might keep them for my house... I am not sure a 6 year old would appreciate them! :D

    Thanks. I shall investigate :j
