I am trying to upload piccies from flickr and it doesn't seem to be working.
I am going to attempt to upload piccies from facebook... see if that works!
Nope... it didn't. Pah. I am not very good with this sort of stuff."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Hi ladies.
Well, I got my new stash cupboard sorted. Didn't take long so I stitched all afternoon.
I was listening/half watching an old episode of Ace of Cakes on sky and they had an order for 'a cross stitch cake'. A lady has cross stitched 53 christmas stockings over the years for her family and her husband wanted the stocking she stitched for herself replicating for her birthday (was around xmas time)
I must admit it looked really good. The girl who was decorating it got a teeny tiny piping bag and iced all the X's to re-create the design.
Just googled and found this so you can see what I mean http://www.charmcitycakes.com/blog/2009/12/cross-stitching-american-history-and-elvis-what
I was watching that episode last night on GoodFoodDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

My children have just switched on the tv and realised wimbledon fortnight has started....you should have heard the groans:D
Who you rooting for? Although he's a grumpy git I'm going to have to support Andy Murray till he gets knocked out, then it will be Federer, cos I'm not all that keen on Nadal.:T
I'm not interested in the tennis! every year my OH has to explain it to me!!! mind you, if he decides to watch some of it, at least it will mean stitching time. :jNOTE TO READERS: Please do not adjust your screen, you are still technically on the Moneysaving Forum!!

tee hee hee !!!
I didn't manage any stitching all weekend:(:( apart from about a dozen stitches of the Newton bear design that is featured in the new issue of World of Cross Stitching Mag. (newton is in bed with the strapline don't want to go to bed/don't want to get out of bed)...
The weekend just seemed to disappear. and this has been the third (?) weekend in a row where I have done very little or no stitching and I really feel the stress and tension because of it. Last night I went to bed really wound up and agitated - there was nowt on the box and as is typical for me on a Sunday night, I can't seem to chill or relax because I know Monday is just around the corner.
So before bed tonight, I am going to do some stitching and I am going to make sure that Sunday afternoons from now on are designated to stitching and nothing else.
As for books, I finally decided on No time for goodbye by Linwood Barclay :j
and in further news, I treated myself to the Desperate Housewives Boxset as an early birthday present to myself so plenty of DH and stitching weekends coming up
Thank you everyone for sharing your current books. I think we should make it a regular thing and perhaps post one day a week our current books. What day shall we decide on ? I know there is a Friday reads club on facebook - shall we adopt Friday or another day ?0 -
Flat Eric - I think a Friday is as good as any other day. I don't really manage to get through a book a week at the moment so my entry may be a bit boring. On the other hand it may encourage me to read more.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Oh absolutely supporting Andy but Roger is my favourite, not keen to Nadal either. Out of the women I have nothing against the Williams sisters but it would be nice to see someone else to win for a change."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I haven't tried other pic hosting sites because I get on well with photobucket. Have you tried them?
Once your pic is uploaded to PB, copy and paste the IMG link in a post (that way no-one can see your entire album, just the pic you choose) and your pic will be posted in the post (like mine are) I think there is an option to choose which links you can see, I turned all mine off except the IMG link, makes it easier for me to choose the right one.
I also re-size my PB pics once uploaded because for some reason they come out massive when I post them in a thread.....but maybe that's just me

Sweetcarer - how did hubby's interview go? When will he hear?
He didn't get job after all my woes- I just don't know what we are going to do - have applied for more jobs in his behalf. I tried the tax credit people - my wage is just over the limit for it. I feel so very sad - sorry girls.

This did make me smile - thank youSweetcarer - rant away!
For what it's worth, it does sound like he NEEDS to be nagged at! (Although us women never technically nag, we just have to repeat ourselves because men never listen!);)
You can't go on bearing the burden forever, he has to square up and take on something which will bring the money in. You need to be firm and spell that out to him though.
Good luck - and good luck to him with the interview
Lou x
Thank you all for your kind messages - I am at a loss what to do - apart from standng in street corners I am stuck.
