  • Hang on a minute pap - whats this about putting gridlines on aida???? I'm being educated here - is this something I ought to be doing????? Am I missing out on something ?????????

Sorry BEG. Basically every chart generally is split into 10*10 stitches, it is marked out as solid black grid lines on your chart. To make is easier and faster to stitch you can buy pre grided adia which when you hand wash after you finished your piece the line disappear. Well you can get a pen that you can use to put your own grid lines on adia that you already have. I have forgot its techinal name :(

Here is the adia to see what I mean :)

    Oh you totally are :D

When you see people posting updates with blue lines all over them, that's the marker. You mark your 10x10 squares and it washes out when you're done. It speeds up stitching so much, I wouldn't be without mine, it's a must-have tool now :)

Sorry all for not being on for a while and sorry I am on now with a rant but I didn't know who to talk to.

As you know hubby lost his job in February and ever since we have only relied on my wage he couldnt get benefit as he hasnt paid enough national insurance stamps - he came here from the states 4 years ago. It has been a struggle but we have managed it just each month - I have sold some stuff to make ends meet but now I cant sell anymore.

Today he has a job interview from a job I applied for on his behalf. He doesn't want to get back into food but its only thing he is experienced in and this is the first interview since March. He is still not sleeping at night and he came to bed this morning at 6am - his interview is at 1pm and has to leave here about 1130 to get there. I have set my alarm for him too incase he misses it.

I know he is not keen but I feel he doesnt understand the importance of this job to us - it will take some weight off my shoulders - I cant seem to concentrate on anything apart from my work. He is meant to being chores round the house but he hasnt done much. I dont want to shout at him or nag him but he really has infurated me with this behaviour.

Sorry for rant - just wanted to have a  moment before tackling the rush hour - hi ho its off to work I go.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

Now you mention it - I have noticed these lines before :D Its probably something that you don't think about but once you've tried it things are so much easier especially on larger pieces. Will give it a go. :D

Thinking of you sweetcarer. Hope everything works out for you both. TMIF may have a point but you know best. Look after yourself.

    Sweetcarer - rant away!

For what it's worth, it does sound like he NEEDS to be nagged at! (Although us women never technically nag, we just have to repeat ourselves because men never listen!);)

You can't go on bearing the burden forever, he has to square up and take on something which will bring the money in. You need to be firm and spell that out to him though.

Good luck - and good luck to him with the interview
