You've been very chatty over the last few days. Thought I'd be able to keep up with the new phone that has the internet but it gives me a headache so maybe not!!!
There is a fantastic app that I've found though. It's got a colour chart for ALL DMC threads and you can update it easily with which ones you have in your stash so all you have to do is put in the threads you need for a new project and it tells you what you have and which you need to buy but obviously you can try and match up colours from free kits and those random bits that are always lying around using the chart (which is spot on with the shades - have tested it on quite a few!). There's also the same app for Anchor and Madeira too. Shame they're not all on one!
Anyway, enough about that. Here are the updates on my cards...all finished!

So for a bit of fun, if money was no object, what cross stitching dream item would you buy ???
and in other news what are you reading at the moment ?
Cross Stitching Dream
The full range of DMC threads, aida and evenware in plenty - preferably magic grid stuff, a better storage solution and the ultimate paid time off work to do it all - nice.
Book I am reading just now is called waiting by Ha Jin - hubby recommend it - we are both big readers - this is one a little different from my usual - here is a summary -
Every summer Lin Kong returned to Goose Village to divorce his wife, Shuyu." Like a fairy tale, Ha Jin's masterful novel of love and politics begins with a formula--and like a fairy tale, Waiting uses its slight, deceptively simple framework to encompass a wide range of truths about the human heart. Lin Kong is a Chinese army doctor trapped in an arranged marriage that embarrasses and repels him (Shuyu has country ways, a withered face, and most humiliating of all, bound feet. Nevertheless, he's content with his tidy military life, at least until he falls in love with Manna, a nurse at his hospital. Regulations forbid an army officer to divorce without his wife's consent--until 18 years have passed, that is, after which he is free to marry again. So, year after year Lin asks his wife for his freedom and year after year he returns from the provincial courthouse: still married, still unable to consummate his relationship with Manna. Nothing feeds love like obstacles placed in its way--right? But Jin's novel answers the question of what might have happened to Romeo and Juliet had their romance been stretched out for several decades. In the initial confusion of his chaste love affair, Lin longs for the peace and quiet of his "old rut". Then, killing time becomes its own kind of rut and in the end, he is forced to conclude that he "waited 18 years just for the sake of waitingOh - I was reading in a recent mag about miniature cross stitching for dolls houses - has anyone tried this? Any recommendations for software that turns pictures into charts and also can be used for resizing the pictures (to fit to the coasters)?
I get mine from here . I bought their keyring creator too it helps resize stuff to fit the keyrings magnets coasters clocks etc.
You can try it out for free too i believe .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

This site http://www.janetgranger.co.uk/tutorials.htm has some good info, my mum wants me to stitch her a tiger rug for her dolls house and I came across this site while I was looking for a chart.
Everyone's stitching is looking good, I haven't done any lately, I don't know what's going on but neither of the kids have been sleeping well and 3am wake up calls have been an almost nightly occurrence so I haven't even attempted to stitch as I know I'll make mistakes.
The book I have just finished is The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, it was very good but not long enough, I read it in two days
I'm not sure what to start next, most of my books haven't been unpacked yet as we don't own a bookcase

Really Useful Info
I also read in my WOXS mag that DMC and Anchor threads are colourfast upto temps of 95 degrees C ! So next time I need to wash a finished piece I'll have no qualms about shoving it the washing machine with my whites.0 -
Nykied - Yeah they are really good books. I too intend reading them all but I don't want to read them too fast as I know he writes one a year which is a long time to wait for the next instalment! I've read 1,2,4,5,6,9. Currently reading 3 and intend reading them in order now as otherwise the choice of which to get next is WAY too difficult
I think his Lee's writing skills have developed too as the first one I read was no 9 which I think was better than the first few. And less violent than the one whcih started off in the prision lol.
I also recommend Karen Rose books. I have read the first two of hers, with the next one sat on my shelf waiting patiently but these too are really good.....(though not as attractive as Reacher obviously)
Flat Eric - Oh no to your plastic mishap  But thanks for your opinion, I'm really tempted to try it so think I might have to get some. I'll be careful about knots though!Challenge savings 2010-2016 £1564.60:j

Yes, I read number 2 first, then went back and started at one. The writing has gotten better, but I still think the second one is best. I think.
I also love Karen Rose's books, read most of them. Have you read the Andy McDermott books? Really good, the first one is 'The Hunt For Atlantis'.0
