Yippee my internet is working properly:j:j:j:j:j. I only didn't have it for two days....think I'm addicted :o

Louise - I am planning to watch as much tennis as I can though it is difficult being at work all day when there is a particular match I was to see. Just watched the Murray match - was much better towards the end

PAP - I was wondering what you meant by the avatar but after your explaination for BEG I looked at that page and can now see them, and why you all though the eye was by Louise :T Thanks

Sweetcarer - I hope you find something to make things better for you really soon (Warning: Scary hug coming up : :grouphug:)

Ailsb - Sorry but what is card canvas? I'm planning a little trip to hobby craft later this week so am currently making a list of purchases (possible purchases obviously as being MSE dictates "find cheapest supplier":A)

Chicky - Love that coffee! Not sure I could bare to drink him ha ha

Oh. No stitiching done thou  hmmmm but did 1 1/2 hrs overtime at work today and doing the same tomorrow :D

Still no stitching for me fingers still quite sore.

Sweetcarer i'm so sorry he didn't get the job i had everything crossed for him. Maybe as one of the other ladies said he needs to see a doc i remember you saying previously that he has ibs . My oh has this too and his doc said ibs and depression are thought to be closely linked. He's suffered for over 30 years.

Here is the Newton Bear I am stitching. I was meant to be stitching the Margaret Sherry Archie bear with the strapline "Chocolate makes my clothes shrink" but I fell in love with Newton and I had the threads so Archie will have to wait! Roo has taken a back seat too!!

I only started this yesterday and only managed a few stitches at the bottom but I have (almost) finished the bottom line and have now started from the top (because trying to stitch up was prooving too much of a headache!!) Its amazing how just stitching a few stitches and concentrating on getting it "just right" makes me feel so much more relaxed and calmer :o

ps I love the coffee picture above. It looks so lovely and I agree, I wouldn't want to drink it !

Sweetcarer - sorry to hear that your hubby didn't get the job. It's a horrible situation to be in, we were in a similar one a few years ago. I spent all of my spare time applying for jobs and every time he got an interview I got my hopes up only to be dashed down. In the end I applied for part time jobs thinking something was better than nothing. He had two interviews on one day and managed to get both jobs. So he actually ended up working full time hours but split between two companies.

I think it is very easy to get depressed when all that is being returned (if you get a reply at all) is rejections. It may help if he spoke to his doctor but do try not to get too down about it. I'm sure something will turn up.

Observer - it's actually called perforated paper. Here's a link about stitching on plastic canvas and perforated paper I hope it's of some help. http://www.your-choice-needlework.com/plastic-canvas.html

I've managed to get some stitching done tonight. I was so excited to think I managed to do some I counted the number of stitches - 187 :rotfl:How sad am I.

  • Sweetcarer, sorry your OH didn't get the job. I agree with the other posters, if you can get to CAB and try and remove some of the burden. We don't want anything happening to you :D

So I have just ordered Picadilly chart and adia :j I need to buy some of the skeins myself but I think I have most here. I will finish this Gorjuss kit and then start on that. I don't know when the other kits/projects will be started but I really want to stitch that for me and I love Al's charts etc. So that's my new plan :D

    OT:

I am reading Adapt (Why success always starts with a failure) by Tim Harford - not really my bag, but it's for work, so there we are

I am also reading One Day by Dave Nicholls - also not really my thing... but I've started so I will finish :)

In Cross Stitchery, I have been very slack. I have not done any Old McD or The Lighthouse for ages. Bad girl.

I did do a poppy card from WOXS on Sunday night... it's pretty. Who should have it I wonder :)

  • Crickett, I like them, kind of folksy in design, very cute. Do you know what you are going to do with them once they are complete?

Thanks... that's what I liked about them too... that and the sentiments! :D At the moment I am not sure what I am going to do with them... I like the idea of making a wall hanging or a quilt... I was thinking of giving them to my Goddaughter, but I might just keep it as a wall hanging for myself and hubby. We can hang it in our next house (current one up for sale!) :D
