hi, i think i've messed up my vote. on the 3rd question (How..) i got confused as it looked like there was 2 the same, so i clicked on resuts (or whatever it was called) to see if that helped and now it wont let me vote at all! oopsie. i'm sorry.

i definately think we should leave 7 days... what if someone is away or cant get online in time due to family commitments (!! i'm away for 8 days starting on sat!!;)).

so i'll just say here that i was torn between "Chickywiggle lists on forum with a reduction on wholesale price. 7 days later Chickywiggle puts names in a hat for each kit (if more then 1 request) - winner gets it"

and the blind auction idea (which i think was mine, but i've had a change of heart as whilst a blind auction would mean more money for the charity, some people here might struggle and it could get silly and not be very MSE.). so i'll go with the one i've said in bold.

    sorry for being an idiot!:o

  • Thanks all, thats an resounding bodge then :rotfl: I must admit the thought of unpicking it all didn't really fill me with joy. I shall be stitching some tonight so I will do an update later I think. Thanks all :)

Ejs, I love that design very fresh :j

I like a few designs from cross stitcher but I didn't buy ity this month, nothing grabbed me in it (from the cover and last month) so I will wait for the next issue now.

Have a great afternoon all :D

Huh :mad::mad: I don't understand why the magazine asked for more info then went to print anyway ? Grrrrrrrrrrr

In answer to the poster above, I know the consensus has been bodge and thats my view too. To unpick a whole A4 page - you will begrudge every stitch when you re-stitch it. I don't know of any law that says we must follow the chart to a "T" and I think the odd change here and there makes it special and unique.

My brain has got a bit muddled doing the poll and reading everyone's views on what should happen with the free kits so to surmise, here is what I think should happen (because I can't remember/work out what the overall view is).

Chicky should be able to pick a kit of her choosing in recognition of all her hard work and effort in getting us in the magazine. With the remaining kits, I think it would be nice for them to be offered to the members on this site and I think that Chicky should see what they sell for on sewandso and on past impressions (i think past impressions are the people they are coming from?) and set a minimum price for the kit- I suggest of 20% or 25% less than one would be able to buy them for on sewandso/past impressions. Posters are then invited to submit their sealed bids and here is where I have an obscure suggestion and please don't shout at me. Rather than highest bidder wins, I think it should be lowest bidder wins. I know this might sound daft and a bit selfish but times are hard and I feel everyone deserves a treat especially after the quilt fiasco and I am sure the charity will be happy with whatever they get. I can't work out what charity has been decided but suggest leftover kits to Bridge, money to Mind.

In other news, Roo is coming along ok - not done much but hope to do progress with him over the weekend. Need to catch up with my running though - its fallen away this last week what with poor weather and being otherwise busy/ aka can't be bothered so invent an excuse :rotfl: After I have finished Roo, I am going to stitch the bear designed by Margaret Sherry with the strapline Chocolate makes my clothes shrink!!
  • Well I have made it back again!

I can't believe the magazine didn't wait for your reply after all the work that went in to but as someone else has already said it does show how well written the first email was I guess its just a case of waiting now to see what they have put together.

Thank you for all the replies about the wedding sampler definitely going to go with the RM one as suggested but just wondering if this sounds like an ok plan to everyone. They have asked for no wedding presents as they went away to get married but I was thinking I could do it as a christmas gift because they are really difficult to buy for and I really like the design does this seem ok or is it a bit wrong to give a wedding sampler at christmas?

craftygranny - where did you get the CD with christmas cross stitch on from I have had no look looking for CD's, charts or back issues of mags

I am a new subscriver to Cross stitcher it seems ok to me so far although one issue nothing appeals then another issue seems to be every design I like will see how to goes though

While I have not been posting I have been planning stitching for christmas so I shall be back to post the gifts I want to stitch so that I can have some nagging to get me organised in time. Evenweave for my first project arrived today to make the rose shopper bag from July Cross Stitch crazy I have never made a bag before from a design so am sure I will be after advice has anyone made up a bag before out of a piece of cross stitching
  • ahhh chicky how very annoying they couls have told you when they needed it by, and i bet your wording is better than theres

sophieandemily I bought it from an ebay seller called seedsy66fiona It has 200 xmas designs and some of them are stocking. I also got a disney disc tons of wtp etc , a sampler disc over 80 on that and a miscellaneous disc with assorted big charts on.
