Like lots of people have said I use this group because I really can not talk to new people and even find it hard to post here but I am gradually getting used to it, that and having three children aged 3,2 and 1 means getting out of the house to do something for me can be hard.
Its also somewhere that I can enjoy my hobby with people that like to talk about the same things as me no one I know in the 'real world' is as interested in these things as people here.
On that note does anyone have any suggestions for a wedding sampler thats fairly modern looking my brother has been abroad and got married in secret last week so I would like to stitch something for him but everything I am coming up with is a bit too flowery, fancy for his and his new wifes tastes
I am off to search for christmas stocking designs now that are just charts since I have more threads, aida etc than I need and can't afford the price of the kits I have found if anyone knows any sites for them or has any suggestions I am open to them too
take care everyone
If you didn't find any stocking charts let me know i bought a disc that had some on.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Hi Ladies i've been missing in action as i've been spending time with my baby grandson so i've done hardly any stitching. He's 3 months old now born just before tinywiggle.
I won't be doing any stitching for at least at week my grandaughter managed to dislocate 2 of my fingers but even though they have been put back they are still stiff and sore.
Bubbles if i can make you anything or whatever for your summer fair or to help raise funds please pm me and let me know. Examples of some of my stuff on my homepage.
Fab stitching been done ladies and i'll be back asap . Hugs to you all trisha xCross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

So have sent that second e-mail to the mag..and got a message back saying my reply is too late - NOT happy!!! They have still run the story but only based on what I told them originally.
I've suggested they put a deadline on any future e-mails as had they said they wanted it immediatly I woulda sent it straight away.
ohh well....prize is on its way......
............. hmmm am debating seeing if the other c-s mags are interested....might send it to a few on the off chance (nothing to loose...).
ETA: sent to "world of" and "no. 1" on the off chance.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Oh Chiggywiggle, what an absolute pain for you, you have put so much time and effort into that letter, we are all grateful even if they are not. I think it has done us all some good.
I think sending it off to other mags is a great idea, it can't hurt can it but 'could' get us more charity prizes.
Thank you once again xCross Stitch Cafe Challenge Member #53.

me too! that's really not fair!
if we were a 'real life group' then surely you'd have had to wait AT LEAST a week to see the group again and go over everyone's answers, let alone the time on top for compiling them and then checking everyone is happy... that could easily take a few weeks!
going with your first email does show you wrote well in the first place, but what if someone had been away for a few days only to come back to say they weren't happy to be mentioned? the mag's actions really aren't fair.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. on a lighter note, thanks for the suggestions re Val's card... looks like i might be best compiling it from different charts and making up a bit of my own (again!).
sorry to hear about your woopsies chicky and pap. i've never done such a big chart and cant imagine how that feels. getting even 10 stitches wrong makes me so unhappy!
Bubbles.. i'll have a think if i can make and send you anything for the sale.. when is it?
Crafty Granny - so nice to see you back. glad you're having a nice time with the new baby, and i hope your fingers mend soon and arent too sore.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. PAP - definitely bodge. You will probably find that you can keep doing the butterfly bit but just a row down and then when it's white the whole way across just scrap that line. I ended up having to rechart a whole side of the plate that the Kingfisher was in due to 2 stitches!!! ...Keeps us learning!
Chicky - that poll is very clever! Not impressed by that magazine after all the work you did for the reply.
Started my thank you card for my auntie last night. Did a whole heart in the wrong colour before I realised so have just changed the colour scheme. Want to get that finished today and posted then FIL card tonight.
My Version - Will stitch Thank You in the middle as well.

Got Cross Stitch Gold through the door this morning - not overly keen on any of the designs this time. Having said that I want to do a few from Cross Stitcher (still can't get over people's hate of it!!!) so I suppose it means there are no new additions to the must stitch list!Cross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

It's not hate, honest. It's just disappointment that it's gone from a Cross Stitching Mag to a craft mag with some cross stitching. It's all fiddly farty small designs and very few decent sized piccies to stitch.
And I don't do 'normal' sewingCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. ejs - that's really pretty. and you it looks good with your colour change, nice and unique!
i also dont hate the new cross stitcher... i even took out my mini sub after it changed... but then again i do do 'normal' sewing too... and that's one reason it's bugging me as it's too repetative on that side too for me!
i've soo much housework and finding/sorting for packing to do... and Vals card.. but i've no motivation and no concentration. i woke up with a headache and i know popping on the puter isnt helpful but it at least makes me feel productive for a few minutes.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23.
