Hi all and best wishes for 2011.
Apologies in advance for long post, it's taken me ages to catch up on the post after 10 days away from the internet so have loads to waffle about.
Like a lot of you I had a night in last night but not through choice, my OH and I decided we would trek down to our local about 10:30ish as by then all the younger revellers would be hitting the clubs. However, once we went outside we discovered that some cretin had thrown a brick through the window of OH car. I walked around the entire estate and no-one else was done and no one had seen anything. So OH and I spent most of the evening ringing the insurance co, police etc, sweeping up the glass and covering up the exposed window. We eventually finished that up at 11:45 and rang in the New Year watching Jools Hollands Hootenany (sp?). Didn't sleep very well last night after that and then was up at 8 to go with OH to get new windscreen. Caught up on lack of sleep today but my body clock is all out of whack now - hence I'm posting on here at this strange hour.
In Feb we were broken into and my car was stolen so really hoping this is a better year. On the up side I had a lovely Christmas at home in Ireland with my family.
We'll have lots to celebrate in 2011 my SIL is pregnant and due end of Jan, my brother will be 21 also end of Jan, my OH Mum will be 60 in Feb, my father will be 60 in April and my parents will be celebrating their Ruby Wedding in August.
Nnm sending you hugs, our family dog in Ireland is also 13 and I think I may not see her again as she wasn't in any distress but is not eating, sleeping a lot and gets sick if you give her anything to eat other than her dog nuts. Her legs are also getting weaker and she isn't able to jump up on the couch anymore. She's always gotten really when I walk in the door and it'll be strange when she isn't there anymore. My aim is to finish a 60th birthday sampler for MiL's birthday in Feb then black lab for mum's birthday in March.
Hi StitchyWitchy and welcome my OH mum (MIL to be one day I hope!) is also 60 in Feb and she is a really lovely woman so want to stitch something nice for her. Could you post a pic or a link to the sampler you're doing for your MIL as I haven't found one I like.
Or if any of the rest of you have ideas for something that I could do for her it would be appreciated. She has a few porcelin figurines of different ladies on the mantle so thought I might have a look down that route too.
Oh for those of you who were on the 2010 thread you may recall that I ordered a kit of a photo of my parents farm house in the snow this photo here(sorry it's so big) to complete for their anniversary and then nothing arrived so got my money back from paypal. Well, I got an email on Thursday from the company http://www.picturecraftwork.com/en/ saying that the kit was returned by French postal service damaged and that they will repair it and send it out to me. I'll believe it when I see it, but it will be a good project if it does turn up. If not I'll get it printed big and framed instead.
Also need some advice about stain removal and where to put my friends baby's name on but need to take pic first.
Take care all of you Happy Stitching and hope your 2011 is much much better than your 2010.Cross Stitch Member No 32: 1. Complete farm house cross stitch for parents anniversary August 2012.

One of us might have some going spare
Curtains will have to wait until next weeekend as we are back to school on Wednesday, I feel quite sick at the prospect. We have all been so ill over the break that I don't feel that we have had a rest at all.
To top it all my Dad and his partner came for lunch yesterday with an attitude as if someone had died. He has been ill last week so didn't come for xmas lunch so I said I would do New years to make up for it. Now she has got it but did she stay at home no she decided to come and bring it back to us again:mad: Told her in a nice way that she should never feel obliged to come if she not up to it , and my dad seperately that he should have left her at her house and not keep spreading germs:mad: Had to take DD to docs agin last week when her lips and face started turning blue. Apparenty it's due to small air passages getting blocked with snot so last thing we need is people bringing more germs. What really annoys me is that she (dad's partner) is always going on about her breathing (she has mild asthma) and yet she still bloody smokes as does my dad:eek: She has given him one of her inhalers - not sure he should be using it - which I saw him use after he had had a fag last week and before I walked in his house, he doesn't smoke in front of me as he knows I don't like it. I think it's a stupid thing to do but then to moan about your breathing really takes the pi$$.
anyway sorry for ranting but needed to let it out before I exploded:o Have a happy days stitching everyone, I need to:o do some marking before I can reward myself with some more stitching I think.Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Happy New Year everyone. Good luck with the stitch-along. I'll be giving it a miss as I'm engrossed with pandora at the moment. My January challenge is to finish the page I'm currently on (2 out of 36). I can see the box taking shape now. Will post update on flickr soon.
Me and hubby had a quiet new years eve indoors. Most of our friends live quite far away but we saw everyone over the Xmas period.
I'm back at work for just two days next week and then next Monday my new job starts. A big thank you to Bikerchick re that top in Matalan that was just what I was looking for.
Welcome to all the newcomers and have a happy 2011!#19 Save £12K in 2019 challenge. Target = £10,000. Progress = £1136.09/10,000 (11.36%)

That annoys the heck out of me as well. My MIL is at the Docs regularly and complains to us about the horrible hacking cough she always has...it takes me all my time not to say 'Well stop frikkin smoking then!!' I have no time for people with self inflicted illnesses.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Oooh thanks for this OH says he'll have a look later (he's currently listening to the football - he went to the local pub to watch it on sky and they switched to another match at half time.....and he was me thinking I'd got the house to myself and the budgies LOL!). Right I'm off to have a coffee and some stitching......I'll check back later.....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Just out of interest, do any of you do the monthly sewandso prize draw and have any of you ever won it ??? I have done it on and off for years and haven't won yet ! I'm guessing someone wins. Its funny really because sewandso obviously appreciate that once a stitcher see something they like, they want it asap
hence their usually dispatched within 24 hours policy but why can't they improve other aspects of their website ???
I enter the comp when I remember, but haven't won yet. Keep forgetting to enter the magazine ones too.Like a lot of you I had a night in last night but not through choice, my OH and I decided we would trek down to our local about 10:30ish as by then all the younger revellers would be hitting the clubs. Sorry to read about the broken car window. What a horrible way to end the year.
That house looks amazing. I'm sure I said before, but that's a fantastic photo! I hope the replacement kit gets sent to you soon. She has given him one of her inhalers - not sure he should be using it - which I saw him use after he had had a fag last week and before I walked in his house, he doesn't smoke in front of me as he knows I don't like it. Wish my Dad had the consideration not to smoke when I'm around. My clothes reek of stale fags and it always makes my breathing worse whenever I go to his house.
I guess that's the upside of me not wanting to see him right now-not got to put up with the stink. Still not got to confront him about his cheating. My stepmum wants me to keep it to myself (so no telling her I told you all!) until she's figured out what she's gonna do. She's going to the citizens advice to find out her rights. I don't see why he should get half the house when he cheated on her, but I don't know where she'd stand legally with it.
RE-Pair Tree chart. Files being attached to emails now. Waiting on email address from nykied too. Did anyone want Christmas Calories?

Does anyone know of a chart for a small (maybe 5 x 5 max) intial "I" kit suitable for a little girl's room? With a fairy or a princess or something like it?
My friend's little daughter is one on Valentine's day and I've just about got time to knock up a small framed intial for her to put on the wall.
Thank you in advance0
