Had a trip to a and e yesterday with my grandaughter she was dancing with her sister and slipped on the laminate floor and banged her head . She has a deep cut about 1" away from her cochlear implant. They glued her head and she seems fine .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Hello All
Here is my lump of coal for the fire, the whisky for you and a bit of black bun - I know I am a late first foot.
Happy New Year all!
After dropping off hubby for work last night I was dragged into a neighbours as they were having a wee quiet drink - ended up not good as one neighbour was a bit insulting to me - assured to ignore her because she was drunk - not telling hubby, no point us both being upset.
Feeling really tired today but can't sleep.
Just came on to wish all the best to everyone - going to parents in bit for dinner before hubby is off to work again.
Kind wishes to all
sweetcarer
PS from wikipedia
The first-foot usually brings several gifts, including perhaps a coin, bread, salt, coal, or a drink (usually whisky), which respectively represent financial prosperity, food, flavour, warmth, and good cheer.:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

That sounds a nice project - poor hubby though
I have a couple on the go - depending on which mood I am in... Too Pooped and 100 cats and a mouse
And when my lighthouse arrives, i'll have the cut thru stitch along too
I don't see a problem with doing a few at the same timex

Can I join x stitch cafe? I have been loitering on this site for a while and have finally plucked up the courage to register and join! I have recently got back into stiching, sewing and knitting and have quite a few projects to do.
My aim is to finish a 60th birthday sampler for MiL's birthday in Feb then black lab for mum's birthday in March.0 -
December challenge finished a day late! Have added photos to our Flikr group
Have decided to do the LOVE cushion next, aim to finish by end of January, one letter a week then.
Have a couple of secret perfume kits to do in my lunchbreak at work, halfway through strawberries and vanilla still to do, so I'll say end of the month for htem too.
Had a count up of unopened kits today....26 (hangs head in shame) and 2 UFO's, which are Too pooped and some lions that haven't been touched for about 5 yearsMarried 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

Had to check it - it's Pandora's box - I did the curious village last year, they are quite good to keep the brain going lol. Might get the third one for my birthdaysweetcarer wrote: »Talking of Layton - I have just completed part one (just to complete the weekly challenges) - curious village. Got part 2 and 3 waiting for me to start.
I'm up for joining in with Dictionary of SAL, I was given the DoTea from a lovely person on here, so I could do that along with some of you as I want to do it for a friend at work who looks after my cat.
We didn't do anything either last night. Just let a few lanterns go and had a nosy at the fireworks out of my window.0 -
Not a productive stitching day today. I've spent the day doing Lego with the kids, so I'll try and sit down tonight and complete the back stitch. If I can get that done then I'll be ready to get on with the sea as soon as my frame arrives. Hopefully it will be finished within 2 weeks, and I can move onto the the new cut thru
My son wants the rocket for his bedroom, so I'm definitely sticking with that for the stitch a long.
I don't think I'll do the Dictionary of SAL. I've looked through them all and although they are nice I have no one who'd appreciate one as present, and nowhere in my house that it'd look good. I can't see the point in stitching something just to chuck it in a drawer, so I'll have to give that one a miss.0
