Great work all :j, Eric I love the card, especially the beads
Marru, cute dog, I love the way his paw drops over the frame.
I spent a few evenings completing the eye on my design, only tonight to find I have gone wrong somewhere and must unpick the right hand side to see if I can fix it  I think its beacuse I am doing to towards a target and working on it late at night after a 9+ hour shift isn't working. It must be done though
I will post an update Wednesday now as I have a day off then :T0 -

I picked up some for these free cross stitch charts and now I want to make something from one but I'm not sure what size Aida I need or doesn't it matter? I've done cross stitches from kits before and I have 14ct aida but I'm not sure if this chart will work for this size aida. Has anyone used these charts before?
I posted this over on the Sewing room but someone recommened you guys!0 -
Wow mrs-moneypenny, what bargains, I'm jealous you got a tiger kit so cheap! Would you consider a
please?
I was browsing ebay last week and saw a gorgeous tiger kit. Had no intention of bidding on it but hubby saw me keep going back to it and said to try my luck and I won it! Just hope it's as good as it looked on ebay when it arrives.
Anyway, here's a pic of the kit I started yesterday...
I have had it in my stash for years so decided it's about time it got stitched.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I completed my peg bag (Well the cross stitch part!) from Crossstitcher magazine. It looks really good, even though I say so myself.
It was my birthday yesterday and my lovely boyfriend got me a lap frame, after reading over my shoulder on this thread. I have worked out how to clip my work to the frame but I am a bit unsure on how to use it. At the moment, using a hoop, I turn my work over to come up the back of the material for a stitch. How do I do it using a lap frame? Any help much appreciated!0 -

Happy belated birthday!
I use a different type of frame but assume they are used pretty much the same as eachother. To come up from the back I use my free hand/finger tips at the back of the fabric to guide the needle where I want it to come out at the front.
I know a couple of ladies have the lap frame you mention so they might be able to give better advice. Also just to add a little tip that I think to stop your stitches getting crushed as you move a larger piece of fabric around the frame it's an idea to use some kind of padding between the stitches and the frame. Louise uses paper I think?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
