anyway, just wanted to say my stitching drought is over! :j
the carpet fitters shooed me out of the house so i sat in the garden and began a little keyring chart (for my new house keys) from a charity shop 2009 Cross Stitch Crazy. it's a little cottage with an apple tree and a rainbow. ok so our new place is an end terrace but the rest is spot on :D

Welcome back - happy new year to you too - but I am confused about the reflections? What do you mean?

Well I have finished my wee wedding sampler - just to frame it and wrap it up to give to the bride and groom. Thinking of starting Kiss next. Hope everyone is well.

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

    You're very welcome!

I know exactly what you mean as when I first started out I used to hold the fabric in my hand, hadn't even realised you could buy hoops let alone frames and stands :D

Must admit in the past I have tried the way Louise advised but I couldn't get on with it, felt strange using my left hand. My right hand does the actual stitching with my left hand being at the back of the fabric to guide the needle.
I have the same lap-frame that Louise has and use it mainly at our dining-table. I have a floor lamp with a daylight bulb shining over my shoulder and I get on well there. As I am ambidextrous, I can have either hand infront/behind my work, in fact I regularly swap them around, saving getting aches in my shoulder.

Lovely makes everyone...love that cat pennib!

Kez, that rose is stunning...this quilt is going to be amazing!!!

Not done much on the Elegant Lady lately, but going to do some tonight...will post a piccy tomorrow on my progress...slow as it is :o.

So off to get stitching...see you all tomorrow.

Sweetcarer; that's a lovely little sampler to give to your friends, they will treasure it.

Marru; they look great BUT complicated:eek: you will be busy for some time.

Kez; Your roses are striking I love them. Looking forward to seeing your project progress.

If you get a lapbox thingy does that mean you have a hand free to dip in the chocolate box. :p

Here is the messy cat in his frame. I tried to photograph it without too much reflection (which didn't work) but just to show you it finished and on the wall!
