^^Found some black fabric so have started work on the Swan Queen

Forgot how much longer it takes when I'm not using the washable marker

Not sure what you mean about the half stitches?? I can't recall any that are all that far away from the bulk of the rest, so when it's only a couple of squares, and I'm working with a light colour (so it doesn't show through) I just carry it over and continue stitching.
Thanks Louise...I am probably being too anal and trying to stitch each lone half-stitch on it's own...you're right about the paler colurs not showing through, so will probably carry over the thread at the back from now on like you did...that will make my life easier and stitching quicker! :D One day I will get the hang of marking the fabric..I just find it a bit tricky with 28 count even weave. Must have another go sometime. :o

I look forward to seeing your first installment of the Swan Queen.

PS Flat Eric, your stitching is FAB!! Not sure about adding iron-on interfacing with the beads...but I suppose if you have a thick enough towel underneath your work, it should be OK. Not done it myself (yet!), someone who has done this will no doubt come along and give you better advice than me!

Keiss - yup, you're being too perfect :D I don't find marking evenweave too easy either, but you can get thinner marker pens if you think that would help...I'm trying to remember where I bought my 3mm tip one

Flat Eric - that looks brilliant!:T Regarding the interfacing - I have never used it on a beaded item so had a little think. One option is as Keiss mentioned and iron it while on a thick towel, that would work.

What I would also suggest is cutting a small circle (the size of the one on your card)out of the interfacing, then laying that over the beaded area and ironing around it. That would stop the interfacing possibly distorting over the beaded area.

Have finished the Pooh & Tigger!
I took pics of the finished piece last night then realised I hadn't given Tigger any whiskers but that was quickly put right :o Also I didn't do backstitching around Tiggers black stripes/patches because it's black on black so wasn't showing up.

    Here's the finished piece,

I think I have chosen my next kit to do. I'll post a pic when I have 100% decided :D

Oh wow! this looks fab! I LOVE the Winnie the Pooh Cross Stitches. This looks fantastic! The only thing i dislike about them is the quarter stitches. Is your next project going to be another Winnie the pooh?

No, my next project isn't going to be another Winnie. I think I have chosen a kit from my stash but not 100% sure of it yet.
I wouldn't have chosen the Winnie kit for myself but a cousin started it and couldn't get the hang of it so I took it off her hands to do for her. Like you say, there were lots of quarter stitches but they weren't too bad.
Going through my stash last night I came across a larger Winnie kit but it went straight back to the bottom of the pile! :rotfl:

Louise - Lion king is wonderful, I am very tempted ;)

Shelly - also loving the Pooh and Tigger (DD just saw it and asked me to do it for her. No way until the woodland folk wall hanging for her is finised which might take a while)

Almost finished the Border Collie. Hopefully picture later today.

    My may challenges:
    - Finish Bert Badger
    - Do this:

And then continue doing Ollie and Frankie as far as possible

Lovely work Shelly :T, might have a go at some Pooh designs when on holiday this summer...small bits easier to do when travelling around.

Though the Astronomer might have a trip and stay at my Dad's. I am staying with him for a week after DH and DS2 head home, so should be able to get a decent amount done there...assuming I can get back into working on him that is (just joking Louise!! :rotfl:).

Thanks also Louise for the info about the Elegant Lady...not done any today (well since I got up, I seem to get to bed rather late when I am working on her these days ):o. No doubt I will be a bit faster when next work on her!!

Enjoy the rest ofthe day everyone.
