Oh Ruth Honey ouch !!!!! I hope he is ok, sending lots of hugs :grouphug:

Its interesting that the debate about the changes to Cross Stitcher continue. I wonder whether they monitor cross stitch forums and know how people feel? Certainly their page on facebook got a bit heated a month or so back?

I hadn't appreciated just how much the magazine had changed until just yesterday - I said at the weekend that I was looking to stitch an anniversary card - well I found a nice design in a Cross Stitcher magazine from September 2004. Whilst commuting home yesterday (and the bus being so busy I couldn't stitch :mad::mad::mad::mad:) I browsed the magazine and I was struck by just how much cross stitch was in the magazine compared to the current issues.

I don't know if any of you remember Quick n Easy Cross Stitch -well I used to subscribe to this mag until that magazine ceased publication and in its place they published a mag called Stich n crafty ???? ( or something along those lines). That magazine didn't last long.....

I'm still waiting for my latest issue of Cross Stitcher - it was in the shops yesterday so I phoned up to find out where my subscription copy was only to be told that there had been a delay in sending them out. :(. I am hoping it will be waiting for me tonight when I get home. I will be having a proper browse of it and then think a letter might have to be written - I have subscribed for many many years yet I don't get any free gift because the subscription simply continues via direct debit so there is no actual renewal date. There was also no contact from them when they were deciding to make changes to the magazine to see what I thought because surely it would have been worth consulting those subscribers who have subscribed for years on end? World of Cross Stitching (I think this is the best cross stitching magazine on the market now) have a reader panel - I am pretty sure cross stitcher don't ??

God, I can waffle! sorry! in stitching news, I am stitching my first project on evenweave :j its coming along nicely (doing the border at present !! In the evening though, its difficult to see the holes...

Didn't do any stitching today because I cut my thumb whilst framing the Fairies for Mums birthday. Didn't realise I had cut it until I saw blood on the fabric
I managed to wash it off with cold water and a little hand soap so it's ok. Just waiting for it to dry off now so I'll take pics tomorrow.
I finished a puzzle instead and have already got a new one lined up for next time :D

He's stitched on 25 count lugana over 2 threads using 3 strands of floss. The french knots came out ok although I can see in that detail pic that I've missed one! Can you spot it? lol

Finally here are the cards for the Great Aunts, have got quite a lot done while I've been in bed :D Am feeling much better now though so I suppose it's back to work tomorrow, boo :(

Need to update my sig, my next challenge is to finish Durham Cathedral, hopefully by the end of April. I also might stitch a card for mum for her birthday on the 23rd April and I need to decide on my next big project, maybe a HAED?

wow skoobie! he looks fantastic. ( i really liked spot the missing bit pictures as a kid, and have looked and looked... i think maybe in the reindears nose? but that's a guess, as i really can't tell!)

marru, personally i like the top of the two chickens designs best. (you could always delete your post after you've enough replies if you are afraid of it being seen?)

re CrossStitcher - they do seemt to monitor the FB posts on their page, so simple comments could be posted there? ironically i'm tempted to get the 3 for a quid offer someone kindly posted the other day.

i dont think i said, but yesterday was aweful for me. the house move date is pushed back again :( and HR had called me in on an annual leave day but not turned up . it all got a bit much - our admin lady whose lovely found me in a pile of tears in the toilets. i do have times of depression, but i really dont think that was the cause - no huge gaping hole in my chest, simply upset and frustration. doing that's really not like me. i havent cried in the toilets (when not drunk!) since i was a kid! and i'm not sure why i'm telling you lot, maybe its cathartic. i dont know. i'm sorry.
i know doing some stitching would help but i just can't focus.

I am sorry to hear you had a bad day. You know its ok to cry in the toilets - I have done it a few time and cried myself to sleep at nights - trying to hide. I do agree stitching will help but like you I can't focus - you know we are all good mates in here - you lot have helped me so much - wish I knew you years ago. Please all take care.

    Kind wishes to all
