bought 2 joan elliott cross stitch books so will put a flikr album of things in it when they arrive if anyone wants a ;) these 2:

    wit and wisdom

    womans world

o0o yes please! I had those on my amazon wishlist lol

I still haven't done any more to Corrie, but I have stitched a little something to make in to a card for my Mum for Mother's Day, I'm just going to go iron it now and make it in to a card.

I'm struggling for what to write inside though. I had already decided just to put 'MUM' on the outside, and I am avoiding the words 'Happy Mother's Day' for obvious reasons. So I dunno what to write inside.

My latest edition of cross sticher came today - will read it - but I am half tempted to give it up - even tho I have been a subscriber since issue one - I don't want to as my late hubby took out the subscription for me as a gift and I never stopped it but its just I am not that intrested in it - nothing is grabbing me lately

re your late hubby's present...from what you've said i'm sure that his intention when setting up the subscription for you was to give you a regular gift that brings you joy. if that is no longer Crossstitcher, then perhaps you should switch to something that does? you could always switch back later if it comes more to your taste again.

I agree with 23rdsprial, Sweetcarer, what would your late hubby advise you if he was still here today? I expect that he would be happy to change the subscription over to something else that you would find more appealing.

Sorry ladies I should've done a update picture last night but I forgot, so I'll try and remember to do that tonight. :)

I had this problem last year, as Mothers Day was shortly after my Grandma died. I decided on writing "With all my love on Mothers Day" in the card.

I agree. No point in keeping the subscription going for something that's not bringing you much pleasure. Damn you Cross Stitcher for changing your magazine! My latest issue still hasn't arrived, but I did go online & change my subscription to Cross Stitch Collection for future issues. I've given it long enough, and only have 3 issues left, but I'm just not enjoying CS anymore.

    Hi ruthhoney
How did you change your subscription over please? I too took my subscription out with my Tesco vouchers and I at first thought I would like it but am finding the designs just too bitty and amateurish looking. I like something more complicated to get my teeth into!

It was really easy. Log into your account on www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk (create an account using your sub number if you haven't already done so) and in the 'my account' section, it'll show all the Future Publishing magazines that you subscribe to. Next to each mag are a bunch of options (renew, change delivery address etc) and one of those is 'change magazine'. Select the reason for changing (I put that I don't like the new format), Then you chose the magazine you want to change it for. A few hours after I did mine, I got an email confirmation through.
The only other stitching magazine is Cross Stitch Collection, but there are many other titles covering other hobbies.

Thanks Ruthhoney. I have tried but I couldn't remember which email address I originally gave so I have got to wait for a postal letter coming through. I bet you though, as soon as I swap over, I will like cross stitcher more! Do you know if we can still get access to the Emily peacock charts as I want to stitch my daughter's name and it has an s in it so I have awhile to wait yet.
    thanks

Both my mum & I had CS subs, so I will read hers until her sub expires & she can read my CSC. No idea about the Emily Peacock charts-sorry. How do we get them now? Are they on the Cross Stitcher website somewhere? Don't use other cross stitch forums. This one is the best! :T I'm sure someone will have access to the charts and can ;) you them anyway...:D

Been trying to get my mojo back by sorting some of my stash. Was hoping to come across some missing charts, but no joy as yet.
I went through my fabric box and I have a ton of coloured aida and evenweave! No plain light blue, which was what I was sort of looking for (thinking I might stitch the 'Keep Calm & Cross Stitch' chart that was in Cross Stitcher issue 230), but I have kind of cloud effect blue. Or a nice primrose yellow aida which could work well. Would need to change the lettering colour if I use that because I don't think white would show up enough. Unless I use 3 strands...Hmmm...sorry-having a conversation with myself there!
I have nearly 30 pieces of hand dyed Polstitches fabric (mostly 9X12") and quite a bit of sparkly aida & e/w. Where on earth did I aquire all this??? I really need to start stitching again. I have enough to last several lifetimes as it is without wasting time because I'm not in the mood.

  • You get to the Emily Peacock designs on the craft circle section of the "my favourite magazines" website. The subscriber number is the thing you need to log in = and you get one of these whichever crafty mag you subscribe to :)

I am downloading these each month from craft circle via my subs number for others in a ;), so I probably still do that if I do change - I already sub to Cross Stitch Collection so I will see what other titles they have - maybe be nice to hubby and see what mag he would like - I know I am a softie :o

just enter your sub number and surname and away you go - they have up to letter H on the website.
    Kind wishes to all

Sally is now finished, even the back stitch. Got the frame so ready to go with the next dog project.

But now I have a dilemma if I should start the dog or finish the Woodland Folk fox and badger first. Fox is put into the hoop but haven't started it yet. Might just do little bit and then start the dog.

Will put pictures up when get them.
