Mine arrived in the middle of last week, only about three or four days after I'd told them, which I think is great!0

erm, thinking on the bright side, it'll never have been tried on by anyone else, and you can now say your fiance had it made especially for you!!:T
Yes, I'd thought that, plus it won't be weaker because it's been re-sizedI do hope it fits though, or that'll be another 5 weeks

In other news, I got my redundancy notice today. 12 weeks notice, which i guess is good. i just love my job and the people there and i'm good at it but its really specialised, so i just have so much trouble thinking of what else i could do. at least i've 12 weeks to think about it - i had thought they'd let me go at the end of March.
Rubbish news! Good luck with the job hunt. I used to be in recruitment until I escaped, so give me a shout if you want someone to look over your CV xox0 -
good luck with the job hunt 23rdspiral..... pants news tho!
Am beginning to think pregnant women and this forum should not mix!! yesterdays blood tests are back and the drs *think* i have obstetric cholestisis and starting me on miricle drugs tomorrow. i won't go into detail but heres a linky if you want an interestng read. to be honest its not come as a surprise as i've suspected all along but even now its not showing up 100% on my blood tests.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Thanks Soulie, she PMed me today.
On another non-stitching note, the jewellers rang today and said that they didn't actually have my size ring in another shop and because of the design of the ring, it can't be resized from a larger size, so they have to make it, which will take up to 5 weeks
I still remember getting my engagement ring like it was yesterday - actually it was close to 10 odd years ago now !! I remember being quite upset that the ring wasn't available there and then for me to take home ! and when I damaged the ring a couple of years ago, I was distraught at the prospect of my ring being put in a brown envelope and being sent away to be repairedIt will be worth the wait and what a tale to tell the grandchildren/great grandchildren in years to come !

Looking forward to quiet night in front of telly with my stitching...hubby still thinks hes dying so have left him in bed and have remote to myself...lol
umm I think you should have sole use of the remote for well as long as you choose !!
Following my craft room sort out, I now have a box of projects to keep me busy for probably the next five years. These are the projects that I really like, I just can't decide which to stitch first ! If I get bored with that, then I have more projects to pick from. I'm sure I could open my own shop !! I'm planning on having a day shopping tomorrow then a sit down and stitch day on saturday. :j oh and sunday too :j0 -

~ also i would definatly worry about the oil vapours affecting the life of your work. (preventing and managing object decay is part of my job). it depends on the kind ( i cant think of a floral oil other than zoflora being a bit oily!), but generally speaking you wouldnt want it on your cloth or threads - it could hasten fading and even potentially 'eat' through the fibres. good instincts you've got.

23rd, Glad it got you, have fuun stitching it I found it quite an easy design. I thought that with the oil and I didn't want to take the risk, asside from teh fact it stunk! I have sent it back for her to re-send a new kit out
Sorry to hear about your redundancy, I hope you manage to find something soon :jHowever what I really would like to do is a wall hanging of different animals with patchwork joining then together. And to practice I was thinking of doing the Woodland Folk animals for DD as a mini wall hanging before I start investing time and money for a bigger one. Might ask for afor Ollie at a later date to get started. Should keep me busy for next decade or two.
Go ahead, don't buy the others yet as I think I will be getting the hedgehog and badger in the mini kits0 -
Update on Mr Men Rocket Sampler as promised....Started on 3rd March..

this is the 1st new project that i have done in a while so i thought it would be nice to share it with you all. I spend so much time oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over your work
So here is My Disney's snow white (T Kinkade) after 2 nights of stitching.
so, this is what it will look like.. one day :rotfl:
Here is what I have done so far..
you can see how much I have left...0 -
Wen-tom, I have just bought a T Kinkade kit to stitch for my sister as a Christmas present for her. Can you tell me how you marked your squares on the aida, please? Do you have ten holes inside the square or do you draw a line at hole one and another line at hole ten (does that make sense?)? Or does it not matter as long as you draw corresponding lines onto the chart? I will be photocopying my charts first so that I can mark off what I've done with a highlighter pen. This will be the first large kit I've done and I'm worried I'll make lots of mistakes!
Thanks. :beer:Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Still trying to be frugal...0 -

New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
thank you Craftygranny. I hope so :j
Smiley, I marked the aida along the line of the holes (does that make sense) so that I have 10 whole stitches between the lines. That way I can follow the chart quite easily as they are in blocks of 10 like graph paper so there is a bold line separating each block of 10. It's actually been quite easy to follow this way so far!
I don't usually mark my aida but this is so big that I know I would go boggle eyed if I didn't
I don't imagine for a minute that mine will be perfect but that will only make it 'mine'0
