I have got sky - woop woop woop woop - I can now watch rugby league from the comfort of my sofa (although saints are shocking at the moment at least I'm not freezing as well as miserable)

Chicky - hope the drugs do work

Sweetcarer - hope the eejits at work shut up soon and hope dh gets something sorted soon

Erics mum - good for you standing your ground for your mum and hope she is feeling better soon

Have been a good mum and done some more baking - rhubarb crumble and apple and raspberry crumble. Have now persuaded dd that fruit is nice, she even liked the rhubarb and wants to grow it!

Am off to find stitching now:T

Sounds like a lot of people have been having bad times since I last posted, so hugs to all who need them.

23rdspiral - that is rotten news about your redundancy, hope you find something new soon

ericsmum - sorry to hear about your mum. I don't think it sounds like you were too pushy, you needed to make sure she was in the best place and you made sure that happened, so don't feel bad for that. I think it's shocking that the hospital were trying to send her home whilst she was still unwell. Hope she is feeling better tomorrow and you manage to get some rest for yourself.

sweetcarer - that's good that your family are all ok. I can't believe the attitude of the people at your work, it sounds more like school girl behaviour, how juvenile to treat you that way!

chicky- I hope the drugs are working by now.

    ejs - great work :)

wen-tom - love the disney, that'll be brilliant when it's finished!

I've been too busy to stitch all week, but I'm hoping for a whole day of it tomorrow. I'm off to a craft group where everyone else will be scrapbooking, but I'll take my rocket as I need some progress this week!

I have an abundance of i think 18 ct aida and a real love of some cross stitch designs that would be perfect form some v special cards i would like to make . the charts are for 14ct and if made on that would be 5 - 6 inches just too big for a card but i am thinknign that if done on 18 ct they would be perfect card size?

sturggling with a printed traycloth - yuck adn some little gingham charts right now and really disappointed found no ndecent cross stitch magazines in the states. Going to convince my OH to treat me to a spanish one.

Sounds like the designs are about 80-85 stitches across/down. On 18 ct that would be 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 inches more or less.

Has anyone else bought the latest issue of Cross Stitch Card Shop? I get a subscription after I persuaded my OH to write out a cheque for the subscription fee :rotfl:

I have decided to stitch the free kit (somebunny to love) for a mother's day card but thought the thread supplied looked sparse. If you have this kit, I am stitching the lighter yellow marked by the symbol "-" Now there is quite a lot of these symbols on this chart yet there simply isn't going to be enough thread ? Its really making me

Its not going to be a problem for me - I have lots of dmc threads and know I will have the yellow colour needed and I (hope) have the other colours too but if I was new to stitching and therefore not used to being economical with my stitches then I would no doubt run out of thread in no time ! Which if I was a new stitcher would put me off. What are Origin playing at ? Cross Stitcher (by Future Publishing) has alienated a lot of cross stitchers by making significant changes to their magazine, World of Cross Stitching (back to Origin) recently gave away a fizzy moon kit a couple of issues back which I noted from this forum (or another forum) that they hadn't supplied enough thread in some instances ?

These magazines are not cheap - Cross Stitch Card Shop if bought on the newstands retails at £4.99 ? I think. so surely they could be a bit more generous with the thread ???

    rant over:rotfl:

Hope all are well. Haven't caught up properly with all posts - hugs to all who need them - hope you have lots of stitching planned for the weekend. I am going to settle down in front of the tv with my stitching and the marple weekend on ITV3 :T

LOl! Yes I'm meant to be using one strand!!!! That will teach me to read the instructions!!!! I suppose they do that to save thread. Thank you, that hadn't even occurred to me! Moan retracted lol!

Haven't crossed so much as a single stitch since the last update I posted :o. It's approaching the end of our working year (we go by the financial calendar although the job's nowt to do with that) so all I have been doing is tidying up loose ends, writing reports and preparing for a humungous court case that's coming up.

Today I've managed to get my hair cut and do a run to Costco to stock up for the tea club at work. If we run out of teabags, there will be open warfare on the streets

So...once I've got the washing sorted I am going to slob out on the sofa with my stitching.

Wondered if anyone could ;) me any charts - am wanting to stitch another quilt square for lovequilts and the themes are green purple or butterflies.

I have a disney one to do for that quilt so have started that one but would like to have a go at all four especially as it looks like a summer of being at home this year. The hand in date is not till November so I have plenty of time (for a change). Have had a quick dweeb around the net but not found anything I really like the look of yet and wondered whether someone had something lovely in their stash.

Don't like asking tbh but is for a good cause
