    Hello Girls

    Hope all are well, I am soso but nothing new there.

    I have sent on my ;) for Emily Peacocks latest letter (H) onto who wanted them.

    Hubby got a letter from DWP - he can't get unemployment benefit - not paid in enough NI contributions. He had an interview other day there but they were looking for long hours and finishing very late at night - much of the same of last place and he doesn't want a repeat of all that - expecting him to finish at 2am with no way home except me coming in out of my bed to get him. Aw well such as life could be worse.

    Been in bed most of day with a cold - been coughing and spluttering all night. Got up a while ago and realised we had a few bananas ready to go black so made some banana cakes - Nigellas banana bread recipe but in cupcake/muffin cases instead. Quite nice if I say so myself.

    Take care all, if anyone else needs ;) re emily peacock circus alphabet give us a shout.

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

    PS We have snow again !!!

    That will teach me to read the instructions!!!!

    Believe me you aren't the first and won't be the last! :rotfl:

    Before I had even dreamt about stitching on evenweave I won a kit on ebay that came with evenweave, not aida.
    I mentioned on another cross stitching thread that the kit came with evenweave and that I was worried about using it for the first time and Louise kindly pointed out to me that it was ok to use as long as you remembered to miss a hole.
    I wondered if I had missed anything else so I read the instructions.
    I really would have just stitched on it like aida and then wondered if it was supposed to be sooooooo tiny :rotfl:

    Now though I read all the instructions that come with my kits...just incase I miss out some important info :o

    Has anyone else bought the latest issue of Cross Stitch Card Shop? I get a subscription after I persuaded my OH to write out a cheque for the subscription fee :rotfl:

    I have decided to stitch the free kit (somebunny to love) for a mother's day card but thought the thread supplied looked sparse. If you have this kit, I am stitching the lighter yellow marked by the symbol "-" Now there is quite a lot of these symbols on this chart yet there simply isn't going to be enough thread ? Its really making me :mad:

    I know that the problem is sorted, I have done something similar on an UFO of mine, but the other way round, ie. used 1 thread instead of 2 lol, but speaking of Origin, they are useless, they sent me the wrong free kit when I subscribed to TWOCS, thankfully they did replace it, but I am having a hard tim trying to flog the unwanted one lol

    Fabulous thanks so much - just got to choose which one now! Going to look in thread box and see which I have most thread for - they also look fairly quick so I could do a few extra for general quilts (when I have a bit of time)

  • Charliec, wow some lovely work there. I particulary like the Banksy. I never knew you could get cross stitchs of his work ;)

    Marru
    , will email you soon :D

    caroline, super super cute :j Love Mr Spaceman :rotfl:

    wen-tom, wow that is one project, lovely though buut a bit much. Can't wait to see it finished :D

    Erics-mum, so sorry to hear your Mum is in hospital but I hope she is on the mend. Glad to see you made them keep her in overnight, certainly the best place for her :)

    Sweetcarer, I hope next week will be better for you. Nothing worse than not wanting to go to work because of your collegues :mad:

    Ej, love the kingfuisher, the colours are so bright, spring is on its way :T

    Elle, great sticthing :) Could I see what the final design is supposed to be as I think I missed it :o

    ~~~
    So here is Ollie that I mentioned I finished the other day, sorry the photo is a bit rubbish.
    100_3548.jpg
    Tonight I finished the chicks. I decided to scrap the egg because I couldn't fit the B in it. So it was going to be the chicks in a border, but I cut the adia to small and the border will not fit in the card 'window'. So its just the chicks, I think they are cute anyways. UIts the first time I have ever done french knots so I was proud of that :T Unfortunatly I used 2 skiens for the backstitch and realised too late, however I don't think it matters too much :cool:
    100_3551.jpg
    Now onto the wedding gift. The seller replaced the original kit and it came here in super fast time. Nearly two whole days of stitching ahead :j
    Have a great week all :D
