I mentioned last week that Mum was admitted to hospital. Well she's still there and awaiting a heart scan and lung function test. She's not too bad while sitting but can hardly walk at the moment (she's 87 but can usually walk around a supermarket OK with her frame).
Anyway I've been a bit tired and frazzled with it all and started a new kit to relax me:
this is how it should look when I've finished it

and this is how far I've got after a week:

nmm, everyone's popped on now you've said it was quiet lol! czar is looking great!
Slightly crappy day here as I found out I didn't get offered a place at uni. That's after 6 months of waiting and being told I did a great interview, so I'm really gutted
On the plus side I've been to another job interview this morning. Same thing as last time, home care work, but this company seems a lot better. They will put me through NVQ training which I really need in order to progress.
So anyway I'm going to have a big drink tonight (well a bottle of Buck's Fizz, but that'll have me on the floor :rotfl:) to both banish my frustration about uni and be pleased about the job.
I'm too tense to stitch so I won't be finishing my cross stitch on the rocket until Thurs now as I know i'll be too busy to do any tomorrow.
Ericsmum - that's coming along fast. Sorry to hear your mum is still poorly, hope the tests go well.0 -

Don't they want my money??? Grrr! So annoying wasting so much time on that when I could be stitching.
Edited to add-as soon as I posted this, the tourist information called me back to let me know they are trying to speak to the ghost walk organiser to book my place on the tour. At least I'm getting there-slowly-now!
Where is the ghost walk? They run one from the pub I work at on Bluebell Hill in Kent  which has its own ghost!Married 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

It's in Gloucester. Am going back there at the end of the month & a couple of my friends mentioned ages ago that they'd like to do one, so thought I'd get one booked for us.
If I'm in your area, I might well do the one you mentioned. I have another friend who loves that kind of thing & Kent is good for a weekend away. I'm in East London & although my friend likes to think she can drive 100s of miles in a day to go on holiday, the truth is she can't! She'll be in pain for days afterwards, so something an hour & half to 2 hours drive away is perfect. Need the Sun holiday deals to start up again...;)Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Talking of ghost walks, I keep meaning to do a Jack the Ripper walk in east London. Maybe this summer (at dusk for the atmosphere

have a good day all
Have you tried the commonwealth war graves website
http://www.cwgc.org/debt_of_honour.asp?menuid=14
They can find all guys with their name and what war - try it and see - I have done a wee bit of family history stuff - only direct line stuff so far and managed to trace 9 generations - real intresting found out where I get my name from.
I am so trying to get on with some cross stitch - I do miss it and want to.
Kind wishes to all

For those of you that was on tenterhooks to see if I could complete my mr men square as I hoped, you're in luck cos I did with minutes to spare
On to Mr Tickle (June) tonight. I have a sneaky suspicion though that I won't get it finished for my cousin's birthday in Aprilif it's going to take me a week a square. Particularly as my weekends are booked up until May at the moment.0 -

The ghost bus tour round London was fun too. 241 vouchers on Days Out Guide.
DH says the best Ripper tour was the one where they walked round the sites in the order of the murders. However this was ages ago, so he can't remember what company it was with!
If you live near me (sounds like you do!), give me a PM if you want to meet for coffee anytime.
Another day with no stitching. Been working on the photobook again. Takes forever but I think I've finally got all the photos placed. Now I need to play with the backgrounds and write captions.
Did get chance to peek on Celtic Rose Needlecraft, though & noticed all the free download charts are being discontinued at the end of March & they'll have NEW ones! :T So if there's any you like, download them now before they go.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

My mil will be so touched when i take it round to her. i really cant thank you enough. id tried loads of site but ever been on that one.
