I have been having a massive sort out and tidy up and ummm I have rather a lot of stuff.... I LOVE cross stitch but do get a tad frustrated that it takes so long to finish a design so back along I ordered lots of card crafty bits. I bought some plastic drawers from argos and now everything has a home. At my choosing, I can do cross stitch !! quilling, glass painting, xmas card making, general card making, knitting. If i was stranded in my house with no tv then I don't think I would get bored what with all the books I have to read too !

Umm whilst sorting though my bits and pieces, I found what I think it a cushion cover with a flower design on it. I think its an embroidery project - its not aida material but there is a pattern there. I think I must have got it in a charity shop - Ill try to post a picture later. do any of you do embroidery and how on earth do you do it ??

I've got the box set, watched the first film at the cinema and bought both films for me and my sister at Christmas.

I love them all. The bit where Charlotte drinks the shower water was the highlight of the first film for me :rotfl:

Also on a non-stitching note, OH proposed on Friday (the day after my birthday) and we picked out a ring on Saturday :j They didn't have the right size for my twig-like fingers, so they're ordering it in and I'll collect it next Saturday :)

i think i'm going to have to get the full set for myself sometime soon.
:Trose.gif congratulations!!! how lovely! and how good of you to get a ring sorted so soon - we took a year and a quarter!:o

Soulie - nice to see you back. the campaign sounds like a great idea. good luck.

shelly - re multi quote - i do just the same as you, but only open a new page every 3rd quote, by clicking on the quote button after i've clicked on multiquote on the 3rd. then i have less windows to sort through after.

    Hello:hello: Remember me?
of course we remember you! :hello:

Flat Eric - i do regular embroidery too, but none since the autumn when i was runner up in a comp. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23rdspiral/5042430523/in/set-72157594450167277/

i sketch out a pattern / copy out one from a book or the net, pop it in a hoop and just choose a stitch to do over the lines using the same floss as for Xstitch - stem, chain, back, feather ect... i just use calico usually - you could give it a go on a pillow case.

of course this might not be the type of embroidery you are asking about, eg i dont do tapestry embroidery.

    here's a relevant-ish one for Nykied: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23rdspiral/4319282998/in/set-72157594450167277/

    Good evening everyone.

I keep meaning to post a pic of my Corrie kit update, I just haven't got around to taking a new pic, will do it in a bit though, as I have a card sample to take a pic of for someone who 'ordered' a card to be made, so I will post a pic update a bit later tonight.

I hope you all enjoyed your pancakes!
None here though, as today would have been my brother's 23rd birthday, so it's been a bit of a strange day to say the least. All his friends and my Mum and Dad are meeting up in the local tonight to celebrate (is that the right word??), and I believe there was talk of cake too!!

I wrote him a little poem, nothing spectacular, a fairly simple one, cus I suck at writing poems lol, and I just had a thought, that I would like to turn it in to a cross stitch, along with an eagle, or picture that would represent this quote: "Once I was a lamb, playing in a green field. Then the wolves came. Now I am an eagle and I fly in a different universe." - Waylander by David Gemmell, though I'm not sure if there are any charts already out there that would fit that, if not I would have to design my own lol Will have to look in to that at a later date.

Anyways, I will be back later with my Corrie update :)

Thanks. It was because I was all MSE and got Tesco Clubcard vouchers for Goldsmiths before they changed to 3x rather than 4x. I was going to use them to buy a present for a friend's wedding in May but hey, needs must. It would have taken soooooo much longer had I had all the different shops to choose from, but luckily I found the ring I fell in love with in Goldsmiths :D

Hi, could you give me some details about this lovely chart please, is it a kit or chart, who makes it, did you find it on a website?

Sorry to be so nosey but it's lovely.

    Thanks

    Linda

Hi Linda, no problems. I purchased it through ebay and I shall pm you the link. Its avalible in pink, green and blue when I last looked but she can alter the colour if needed (she did for my pink). You can buy it as a chart for £8 but I bought the kit at £25 (inc p&p) I know it sounds a lot but its pre sorted dmc threads, aida and the chart pluus no waiting for threads.

It arrived today and looks amazing, I can't wait to get stuck in now :rotfl:

Oh Chicky, that was a reading at my wedding last year - any chance of a ;) - might do it for my other half as a 1st anniversary pressie.

Feel too fat to stitch (or do much tonight) after pancakes. Have discovered a few good cominations other than my usual cheese & tomato sauce so if you've not already had yours I can recommend that, cajun chicken & cheese or chocolate buttons and (a tiny bit of) golden syrup!
