There is lots of good news on here again, which is lovely
That's great news Eric's mum, hope the rest of the rounds go well for him!
Craftygranny (and son and dil) congratulations, he is so cute!
For my own good news - I got a job yesterday. It's only home care work, so badly paid and rubbish hours but at least it's a starting point0 -

now im broody again lol oh hubby can i have another baby (husband runs away screaming !!!!)good news
A good friend of mine Richard was diagnosed with liver cancer before Christmas at age 43, and a couple of courses of chemo had no effect. He told me today that his tumour has shrunk after just one round of a new treatment at Addenbrooks in Cambridge. He has 3 more rounds, so fingers crossed for a good outcome.
Sorry, it's nothing to do with x-s but I needed to tell someone - my heart is "fluttering" with the emotion of it all, if that makes sense.
this is great news hope the other rounds are as good

Lots of lovely news this week...congratulations to you all.
Still no stitching done for ages...will try hard to get some done today, even if it's only half an hour or so.
My favourite X-stitch mag (I only buy intermittently) is Cross Stitch Gold, though looking back at some of my collection...I seem to have a few Cross Stitcher, as well as World of Cross Stitch...haven't bought any since they gave it a make-over though.
Right off to get things done!

Kez. Piglet is cute! Forgive me because I can't remember but are you framing it as it is or are you making it into a cushion?
I didn't do any stitching yesterday but I did work on something else I enjoy, a jigsaw puzzle. I forgot I had one started until I found the box in the cupboard.
I have one of those portapuzzle boards and I had to dust it down before I could unzip it :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Erics mum - Wow, good news indeed!! I'm sure he is still trying to get his head round it all, good luck to him with the rest of the treatments x
Kez - Well done on completing!!:T Piglet is my favourite Pooh character. Good luck on the Mr Men, it looks so colourful, I'm sure it will be fun to stitch
Ailsb - Well done - look forward to seeing that pic. It's amazing how much you can get done with a little encouragement :T
Regarding metallic thread, is it single strands? Thread heaven would be a good idea, and also keep the lengths quite short.
Apocasaver - Congrats, it may not be ideal but they say it's easier to find a better job when you're already in one, so who knows what the future may hold
Got a little bit of stitching done this morning, while watching This Morning - the sight of Dame Helen Mirren being a 'ghost' to freak out Holly...oh my sides :rotfl::rotfl:
Got my mum coming round soon. I think she has finally had her 'lightbulb moment' as they say in the debt free section on here. Her finances are in a mess so I have told her to bring all her statements, wage slips etc and I will sit down with her and work out her incoming/outgoings to help her budget a bit better.
Nothing on tonight, going to watch the final episode of 'Marchlands' (anyone else been glued to that?) and get some stitching done - only got 2 weeks left to finish it:eek:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I go through phases of liking to do them. Not done any in a while though. My favourite ones are the 'wasjig' designs where there will be a picture on a box but the jigsaw is of what it looked like 20 years previously, that sort of thing.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. They're my favourite too, makes it more challenging. Although my portapuzzle thing is under the TV stand, also covered in dust0 -

I used to do those! I mainly like big puzzles as the small ones are too easy. I haven't done a jigsaw since we moved here last year as hubby stuck them all in the loft. I might have to send him up to get them now. I have one of those jigsaw rolls, it's such rubbish that I'd always end up covered in green fluff from it.

Me. It's been really good. The only thing I don't like about it is that awful woman who plays the middle family's mum, she drives me mad in everything she does.

Good news for everyone! It's so nice after the last few weeks.
Finally sorted the error on the Kingfisher - have had to alter the chart but it should work!
...I opened the post this morning and found I'd won a Heritage Stitchcraft 'Meerkat Mere Cat' kit!!!! Another one on my to do list. Going to finish Kingfisher and Titanic before I start anything else though.
Anyway, still sorting the house for the inlaws visit so better go!

Thread Magic
seeing it mentioned on here this morning reminded me that I've got a tiny box of it somewhere.
I'm scared to use it in case it marks the fabric, makes it greasy or waxy. Does anyone have these probs or is it quite safe ?
Thanks0
