Good projects... ohh 23rdspiral I defo think it should be baby then dog.... as it'll be easier for a baby to adjust to a dog in the house then the other way round.
    this worries me too.

You do have to do whatever is best for you as a couple, and I'm all for being prepared, financially etc......but it's much more strange (imo) for someone to put getting a dog before having a child lol ;) Is OH more than a little nervous at the thought of fatherhood? :)
:o putting it in writing and hearing you say it back to me, as it were, makes me realise it is perhaps a bit daft. and more daft than i'd thought! we're both only children so maybe he is nervous... i know i am!

23rdspiral- It must be so hard having to wait, everyone's sad stories on here have made me realise I'm certainly not alone in having problems. I don't think men think about the waste of years though, they can keep going forever, so time isn't so critical for them. Perhaps you should suggest getting a dog AFTER you have a baby so it can be a proper family pet :D I'm sure you'll be fine though and at least you'll have a lovely house to bring up a family when you do start! Has the move gone ahead yet?

i might just try suggesting that. oh and still no move date. a flood in the other house they have to sell has seriously delayed things.:(

you know, you've all got me thinking... thank you for helping me see this...
... his Life Plan got smooshed several years behind due to the recession, but come to think of it i dont think he's realised that whilst his carreer progression, pay rise, house move and dog could all be put on hold till better times, my body clock can't. :(

  • Managed half of my February challenge, the LOVE cushion, but have still only done 16 hearts :(

Started the red crockery sampler at the weekend so my March challenge will be the first page of that and the remaining hearts.

Just about to have some toast for tea, then stitching, Holby and an early(ish) night :o

Sorry no, but it's lovely. I've just had a quick look on EBay in case someone is selling the chart but nothing.

Good luck in tracking it down a bit cheaper.

Thank you Erics Mum. It is lovely isn't it. I have seen it for £13.99 which isn't too bad I don't suppose :)

Princess Palace square A3.... as of 20th Feb.

5489921934_a64b4541ef.jpgGrandparents (aka handprints) as of 28th February. thanks for the reply Maria... I know what you mean about excess threads. In a way this project is fab cause it doesn't matter toooo much if you are a stitch or 2 short just use another one.

And on that note I shall be picking up handprints on a mission to complete the majority of it tonight.
Does anyone think i should re-stitch the A in grandparents (over the h of hand???) I dropped a row by accident - grrrrrrr
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

stitched the word "is" and the "e" on the end of where just got "Home" to do but have started filling in the control with white now as that will take forever so doing bits of that as i go along.

  • Hi all
I love looking at everyone elses work on here I must learn how to put photos on its so motivating to see others progress I need a kick up the bum to get going.
I did start planning out my years stitching what gifts to do for who when got quite a long list and a few questions probably attempting too much but it keeps me entertained and relaxed once the kids are in bed!
Now for my long list of questions that my long list of projects has caused me
Has anyone stitched advent calendars before I can't seem to find any online probably the wrong time of year but I would need to do a few so need to get a head start
What about stockings what do you get in the kit and how do you make them up iinto an actual stocking? My sister is in canada for six months at the moment and I can't help noticing the HAED stockings are much cheaper there but can't see what you are getting and what you do with them if that makes sense
i am also considering attempting cushions any advice on them
and final question for today do i need to buy a bookmark kit or can I make the shape myself out of aida
looking at all those questions perhaps I am being a bit adventurous with my plans but I really want to try making my stitching into something

    morning
sophieandemily I cant answer all your questions but ive made a bookmark recently using a kit that had the adia with the 'finished' edge that doesn't fray, but ive also made bookmark from a chart in a mag using ordinary adia when i did that i frayed one band of squares all around to give an even finish then fixed it to a piece of felt to back it. that worked out a lot cheaper but it depends on the final result you want. I'd made 12 bookmarks like that for people in an online reading group i belong to and they were all pleased with them.
im sur someone else will be along soon to answer your other queres and add to my comments on bookmarks.

not going to get much sitching done today got to resand the woodwork in the boys rooms ready for glossing tomorrow:(. id sanded it once but it still looks too shiny DDs Bf has brought me some good sanding stuff (looks like a scouring pad - im going to try that today.

found some more projects that ive finished stitching but not done anything else with:o a free kit from prima years ago its a shelf full of herb and spice jars i stitched it washed it and thats as far as got, also need to sew the backing ribbon on the thistle bookmark. I've probally got a months worth of finishing off.

Quite enjoying that programme myself, I only started watching it by accident but I'm hooked now :D

Loving everyone's progress piccys - there are so many this week, lots of progress being made :T:T:T

I'm very organised today - had all the housework done and the washing on by 10am so sat and done a little chav-watching (Jeremy Kyle):D and now have 45 mins of stitching time before I go to pick DD up from nursery.
