  • I am wanting to make a cross stitch bookmark and I believe that a magazine recently did a freebie? Does anyone know which one and is it still available? thanks

I have always used DMC threads but cannot see such ebay bargains as the anchor ones above.

Are the skeins the same length. Any reason to choose one over the other as I've nothing to compare my DMC ones with but would appreciate any opinions.
    Thanks

i do prefer dmc to anchor cause they seem softer but .... MSE'ers can't be choosers! :D
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • I also prefer DMC, they seem to have a sheen on them which makes them easier to stitch with...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • I prefer DMC, I find Anchor knot when stitching more easily.

Just looking on the Sew & So site and they seem to have added more bits to the sale. Not sure how recently, so you might have seen them already. They have a Winnie The Pooh bookmark for just £1.50 though...

do i NEEED 215 ANCHOR Cotton Craoos Stitch Embrioder Skeins --> 185 Brand new New Anchor Cross Stitch Embroidery Skeins and 30 Vergigated Anchor Cotton Skeins

such a good price on ebay NEW £25 delivered.....thats like 11p each.

it would save me money in the long run.... and i didn't buy the verigated ones in the end the other day......

I think that's where I bought from when I first started, good bargain but I now prefer DMC - easier to stitch with and shiny.

I finally received the snow white & peter pan charts :j

I have a new scanner and they have started to 'fall in'! well I had to make sure the scanner was working didn't i?

For people who have requested them they should be over to you by email tomorrow. I think I have remembered to PM everyone.

If anyone has any small disney charts I would love a ;). I'm hoping to stitch some onto some bags for friends.

I've got some Winnie the Pooh stuff. One is a big alphabet and one is Winnie and friends in Autumn leaves. That one's quite big but I'm sure they can be done seperately, even if you have to make some bits up (bits that have been covered with leaves, for example). I could scan 'em in if you like, see what you think. I could swap for the ones you have?

On another note, I subscribe to Cross Stitcher and it arrived yesterday. The free gift was a stitchable pouch with a mirror in. I rang them and as soon as I said that I'd recieved my copy that morning, the woman on the other end of the phone said, 'And your mirror's broken'. They've had loads of people ringing and she even said herself that it's not the best gift to send through the post with no bubble wrap :rotfl:

I know! The woman on the phone said that they don't know if they'll send out another (hopefully with some bubble wrap!) or an alternative gift. They're just 'collating' everyone's information at the moment.

Just a thought - people could ring and say their mirror's broken even if it's not... I took a picture of mine before I threw it away but they didn't check.
