Hi guys, just popped on to see how everyones work is progressing but seems no one is posting updates at the minute lol
I had a bad week last week and ended up sitting at my desk on thursday at work with tears streaming down my face and unable to speak to anyone....when they asked what was wrong I just cried more!hoping this week will be better as I dont know whats got into me at the minute...
anyhow I have still been stitching and my horses are nearly finished so should be able to post a picture of the completed piece by this friday...then I was going to start on one of the Tatty Ted Birth Samplers over the weekend but realised its mothers day soon and i haven't started anything yet!!
was thinking of doing this for my mum....
also thanks to everyones comments/suggestions on the cutesy birth sampler on previous posts....I'm going to see how I get on with deadlines as I'd rather do the tatty teds but if time runs away with itself I'm going to go with adding the blue to the yellow border rather than unpicking it ....never thought of that to be honest :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Ruth_honey wrote: »I use DMC over Anchor because I bought some of my stash in America & it only seems to be DMC out there. I have Anchor threads in some kits and it's good quality. I found with Madeira threads that the black seems to leave residue a bit more than other brands. And the threads in the Bothy Threads kits seem to go very thin towards the end of the length. Grrr!
So it's not just me who thinks that about Madeira threads!
Have to say I find DMC better at any length, and I think the newer Anchor threads I've bought are more cottonny.:o
Not vry good at explaining, it's like I'm using a spool of thread instead of thread does that make sense....?
Does to me, but I'm still very dehydrated and just told my dad on the phone to say goodnight to the boys for me, except I called them floella and maggieMy countdown to christmas 2011 began when I discovered this forum, thank you everyone! :rudolf::xmastree::rudolf:0 -
I have some anchor threads i bought on ebay last year and i'm just using them to stitch my anniversary sampler and they seem okay. I usually use dmc but these seem just as good.
I have some madeira ones i got free with a mag subs and some i had given but not too sure about them.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

ruth_honey you're wizzing on with that..... i've eventually finished page A3... including backstitch. gonna put it away for a while as i need to get grandparents stitched for mothers day.
I didn't use verigated green/ blue in the end i replaced it with the green from near the flowers and it looks ok... YAY. Think the next square I will tackle is C2 as I've already stitched over a third of it (if you remember I did a 'border' of colour first to be able to cut the aida to the right size.
ohhhh i wanna start the wedding samplerrrr..........loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi everyone, hope everyone is ticking along ok. PM2326 - sorry you haven't felt too good this week, I felt like this a few weeks ago but not too bad now.
I said I'd update on my very old project which I started in 1998, as I said last week I'm not as fast as some but I'm very pleased with how I have done this week. The first picture is how it will look when it's finished.

Ruth-honey....see the section on the left where the backstitch is like a chain, how are you going to stitch round that...I may be stupid but I always leave my backstitch until the area is fully stitched or else I tend to go over the top of it, and it doesn't stand out as much...;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

There is no stitching to go 'under' that bit. It's the drawbridge for the moat. If you look at a pic of the finished kit you'll see what I mean. I usually leave backstitch til last but with this kit there's so much of it that I'm doing a bit as I go. But only on areas where it's 'safe' to do so-as in all cross stitch in that section is done.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Ruth_honey - that's fairly coming along :j I love that design, would love to stitch it but my list is so long now I daren't :rotfl:Does all the backstitch follow the holes? I don't mind backstitch but hate when I have to break between the fabric.
