it is not good news.
I have just watching the sky plus Pobol Y Cwm surrounded by boxes, fecal matter and rubber recoders when there was a knock at the door. A pretty young girl was at the door and she is the daughter of the person we are buying from up the road. Apparantly he had a mild heart attack, something due to angina caused when he was humping the boxes - basically he has over done it. I cant begin to say how much we are feeling homeless at the moment. The Clampetts are now in residence, save for sleeping here and I noticed this afternoon when the clampetts came back...
oh yes, i havent told you.
The clampetts came back at noon today all loved up and besotted with each other. They knocked to let us know they were back and they spotted the recorder bag on the hallway telephone unit (ironic as I am always moaning at Mrs J for rabbitting on the phone) which we forgot to replace back where we found it . I didnt say anything but Mrs C must have grabbed it on the way in as after she had gone it was also gone. They were sooo apologetic and feel awful and stupid (again) for forgetting to reorganise the removals. They are taking us out for a slap up meal as an apology and they have news to share with us. I would say she was a bit old for being pregnant so we wonder....
Anyway, tonight I am going to have to let them know about the moving situation and our vendor who is now in the same hospital as enith was. Thankfully, my pilates board wasnt the weapon..
But we are a little worried. How on earth am I going to update you lot if we end up in a camper ourselves. I will have to get myself a dongle and plug it in.0 -

Not your problem. You've exchanged the completion date is fixed. They'll have to get removal people in to do all the work if necessary.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Perhaps a little harsh in the phrasing, but true. The contract and thus financial penalties stand even if there's serious illness. The death of one of the parties would be the only get out, I fear. Uh oh...Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Ooooh how funny...I can see what's coming. The roles are going to be reversed with the Clampetts living in the house and you camping on their drive, or you could go and camp on the drive of your new house and they can start a thread about you!0

couldnt agree moreThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -

Oh what a surprise that such a thing should happen to your vendor so close to completion - who could have guessed something like this was going to happen?? Life really is stanger than FICTION....."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
thanks Man on the street.
Mr Roberts, the man who was selling our home passed away in the early hours. We had the daughter come by this am to tell us, naturally we are very distressed ourselves but couldnt show insincerety. I am due a call back from the solicitor to see what we can do now to get it through. The clampetts havent been told yet.
I cant begin to convey how fun has turned into misery.0 -

Oh hell, what a nightmare!
What happens when a vendor dies between exchange and completion?
NB, on the mint dispute - my garden has just emerged again after 6 weeks of snow cover and nightime temperatures as low as minus 13.
And my mint is still green!!My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper
