Reading all this (currently on page 18) did you ever vertify that these were the actual house buyers and not just some people playing you?0

It does not really matter as this has kept us amused over Christmas and the New Year, but it would be good to actually find out if the whole thing is Fact or Fiction:D
I see there is still report of an exchange of contracts:eek:To Dare is To Do:beer:0 -

Sooooo, knowing what you do know about the Clampetts you are still willing to be near neighbours  ??
Mate, you will never be rid of them, they now consider you bosom buddies !!
This promises to be a long-running seriesI try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -

I suppose Rightmove is a discrete way of casing the joint and besides, I have 52 inch of sheer pleasure in the corner on my living room that I dont wish to advertise.
There is also another problem, the house we are moving to is.. erm Next Door but one so if this goes ti ts up, our neighbour will not be amused.
The Clampetts solicitor cant get hold of them. I have advised my solicitor to advise theirs that unless we exchange today they must make alternative living arrangements. The solicitor asked what I meant, I explained and then he asked whether anyone was residing in the property as this may cause an issue. I wish I hadnt opened my mouth now.
12PM, come on phone, ring!
Frends for life then.
Oh mobiles can be on in some areas of hospitals.0 -

So have you gone and spoken to the Clampetts and told them their solicitor cannot raise them on the telephone? I assume they have mobile telephones, and their solicitor is trying to call the said telephones???"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Ooohh! the suspense is killing us.:rotfl:Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate0

thinking of going to Halfords and getting a wheel clamp for their motorhome so they have to come in first
They are still at the hospital, phone is switched off. They are calling us when they need a lift back. I may just have to hold off the lift home until exchange0 -

This is so funny, I'm finding myself logging on every hour to see if there are any updates. Thank you for the laugh, never laughed so much in ages.
You are very generous letting them stay with you even when it looks very unlikely they will exchange contracts.
Just a thought, could you not phone the hopsital ward and ask the nurse to pass an 'urgent' message to them asking them to call you asap.
They must have said what ward Mrs senior C was on? that way they can call their solicitor and get things moving for you xx0 -

Oh please do! :rotfl:thejonesfamily wrote: »They are still at the hospital, phone is switched off. They are calling us when they need a lift back. I may just have to hold off the lift home until exchange
Or keep quiet until they're in the car, then announce that you may as well drive straight to the Solicitors and get the ink on the paper, before treating them to a slap-up take-away supper!
When you get home and they spot the wheel-clamp, you could mention your concerns about burglaries in the area and say you were only protecting their property.0
